And although he was the victim of Harrison's viciousness, Cleveland Browns receiver Joshua Cribbs(notes) had a softer message for Pittsburgh's enforcer: "Don't change you."

"You're a player, so play," Cribbs said he told Harrison, his former Kent State teammate and close friend. "Let refs ref.

Maybe Cribbs should talk to his teammate Massengil and tell him to stop whining.

Good on you Joshua. Maybe we need a commissioner that played the game.

Cribbs said he respects Mack's opinion, but that if Harrison wore an orange helmet and not the Steelers' black and gold, the perception would be different.

"If (Harrison) played for our team we'd be applauding his efforts," Cribbs said. "I'm just trying to be honest. If he were on our team we'd be rallying behind him, just like his team is doing for him. He plays to knock people out.

"Wouldn't you want a linebacker like that on your team?"

Damned straight Josh. The Browns fans who are villianizing James would soak their Fruit of the Looms if he was on their team.

I gain a whole new respect for Josh Cribbs today. :drink:

I am impressed with Cribbs for saying this. He is a great player and knows how football should be played. Wish we had him...

Being from the school he was at,you could not expect anything less.Football can be a dangerous sport, and you better know that going into it.Linebackers have a responsibility to do what? Where did the name linebacker come from?

I never liked Cribbs in the "Dang that kid is way too talented and scares me when he is on the field...wish he was on my team" way.

Now, I REALLY don't like him in the " "Dang that kid is way too talented and scares me when he is on the field...wish he was on my team AND he seems to know what this game is about" way.

I was going to say that ,but in a different way. I saw you on a Raven site dude. Excuse me , father dude. Nice way to put it. Some accept a challenge, and yet others try to avoid it, where do we go from here?

I would hate to see what he would do to someone he didn't like.

Just think if Cribbs played for a winning team. He is a class act.

He does look a little out of place there, doesn't he.

Mad respect for Cribbs for coming out to defend Harrison! You wouldn't expect that from another team member much less a division rival!

Cribbs is a REAL FOOTBALL PLAYER. Period. No softie there. Too bad he's a Stain but any success he has, he earns it.

Even before the hit, he scares the living daylights out of me.

He is the only player on the Browns who would be a standout on a decent team and the only one worth paying to see.
