Today I wanted to make an announcement....There will be NO MORE hard hits in Football. I am all about saving the players from injury.

Tim Levins...Chicago Tribune. Commisioner, if you are concerned with the players health, why are you wanting to add two games to the end of the season?

On NO!!! you misunderstand...players are much to tired at the end of the season. I am proposing that we put the two extra games at the BEGINNING of the season.

But....thats still 18 games.

I mean a phone call from me and a fine. Also there will be compensatory draft picks to the Patriots for every violation. The Patriots will get....uh....one second please.

Mr Kraft?...How many picks did you say you wanted? I know you already told me...but these reporters made me nervous and my thinker box hurts. One pick per violation? Thank you sir.

Goodell has announced early this morning that do to all the excessive turnovers today, defensive players are no longer allowed to jump. They must maintain their feet on the ground, unless they are running. If they project their bodies in an upward motion making both feet leave the ground, they will be penalized 5 yards at the spot of the jump and the offense given a first down.

Goodell was quoted, "I believe this is in the best interest of the integrity of the game and to level the playing field for the offense. It's just not fair that defensive player should be able to make a play on the ball without giving the offensive player an opportunity to make the same play."

Ray Anderson stated, "This rule will be known as the DeAngelo Hall rule as explained here in the video. This interception, although a great athletic move, would now be illegal because the defensive player launched himself in an upward motion having both feet leave the ground."

LOL!!!!

But you know...thats not much worst than the ruling that the steelers got nabbed on a few years ago....If a kickoff bounces off of the return man and lands in the hands of the defensive team...it is considered interference. Until the return man has possession or until the ball hits the ground...the defender may not touch the ball.

Anybody else remember that?

Actually that was a punt, and after the opposing player bobbled it, the ref ruled that the opposing player wasn't given the opportunity to complete the catch. Yeah, I was like WTF are you talking about. He had his opportunity and muffed it.
