Helmet-to-helmet collisions can never be completely eliminated from a violent game

Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5535)'s collision with Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=11283) on Sunday was incredible. Steelers linebacker James Harrison (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4433)'s punishing hit on Browns jack-of-all-trades Josh Cribbs (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=9270) was awesome. Likewise for the shot Harrison gave receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=12581) later in Sunday's contest.

I loved and was completely enthralled by every one of those violent encounters and I'm not afraid to admit it. That is the essence of this sport we all adore called football. My guess is that deep down the vast majority of people out there feel the exact same way, whether they would confess to it publicly or not...........

If people want this "defenseless receiver getting laid out" crap to end, why dont people lay off on the pass and start running the ball again? Or just grow a pair.

This has become a comical irony: Trying to eliminate violence from football....pfft
