Now, as always, liberals lie and exaggerate about what took place. I really don't see anything wrong with how Trump handled it. Sure, it could have went better, but negotiations are not always happy and agreeable. The problem here is Americans witnessed the negative side of what sometimes happens in a negotiation. Do people really believe negotiations between countries do not become heated? Zelenskyy was hoping Trump would be weak and spineless like the Dems. Liberals are too immature, brainwashed and hateful to understand. They must hate Orange Man at all costs.

Now from what I read/heard, Zelenskyy reportedly yearns for Ukraine to be part of NATO. "I want to find a NATO path or something similar." "If we don’t get security guarantees, we won’t have a ceasefire, nothing will work, nothing," Zelenskyy said.

Article 5 of the NATO treaty stipulates that if a member country is attacked, it will be considered an attack against all NATO members and requires other NATO countries to take action, including the use of armed forces.

The two dangerous issues here are Putin, in my opinion, is not mentally healthy and Russia is a nuclear super power. Trump is right, Zelenskyy doesn't really hold any cards without the US. Unfortunately, Zelenskyy(NATO too) may have to give up something that most countries would not agree to.

Russian draft treaties on security guarantees released in the run-up to the invasion focused on NATO, not Ukraine. The three key demands in these treaties were an end to NATO expansion, a prohibition on the deployment of offensive weapons along Russia’s borders and the withdrawal of NATO infrastructure back to the lines of 1997, when the NATO-Russia Founding Act (https://archives.nato.int/uploads/r/null/1/3/137932/0329_NATO_and_the_Russian_Federation-Founding_Act_1997_ENG.pdf) was signed two years before the first post-Cold War wave of expansion.

Zellenskyy doesn't want peace. With peace, his gravy train runs dry.

Trump didnt do anything wrong. One has to watch the full 50 minutes sit down to see how this thing unraveled. Zelensky would love to drag the US into WWIII.

Hopefully, DOGE can run an audit on it. Now Zelenskyy is saying they have received all of the money. Prior to that he said he didn't know where half of the money went.

Europe is working on a peace deal to bring Z and Trump back together. I think Z will be gone with new elections as soon as a cease fire is established. He will never live to spend all the $ he skimmed.

I blame both Trump and Zelenskyy for the altercation. Zelenskyy because he didn't stick to the subject of the mineral agreement and kept trying to bring up subjects not directly related to the mineral agreement such as his distrust of Putin and the need for Ukraine to have security guarantees. He was right about what he was saying, but this was not the right time or place to bring them up. These things should be discussed behind closed doors and not debated in the open with Trump in front of the press.

But while I acknowledge that Zelenskyy made this error, Trump could have handled things a lot better. There was no way this situation should have escalated to the point where we had all the insults and the mineral deal was actually derailed. When Zelenskyy started talking about things he shouldn't have, instead of insulting him all Trump had to do was say something like "President Zelenskyy, I understand your concerns, but this is not the time or place to bring this up. Everything you are talking about today will be thoroughly discussed behind closed doors as the peace negotiations go forward. Now is the time to talk about the historic agreement we are signing today which will be mutually beneficial to both of our countries because blah blah blah blah blah", and then go on talking about the mineral deal for five or ten more minutes before giving Zelenskyy a chance to speak again. Notice how this stops Zelenskyy from talking about things that Trump didn't want him to talk about and redirects the conversation towards what Trump DID want to talk about without any insults, arguments, or altercations. And if somehow Zelenskyy was still clueless and tried to talk about the other stuff again, all Trump had to do was was say "Ladies and gentlemen of the press, the press conference portion of our event is now over and we will reconvene in a few moments in the adjoining room to actually sign this important deal."

Instead we got inflammatory rhetoric like "you have disrespected me in the oval office", "you are playing cards with World War III", and "you don't really want peace", along with other insulting comments that J. D. Vance threw in from the peanut gallery, and the situation became so contentious that the deal itself, which for a number of reasons was good for both countries, was actually cancelled. Trump basically blew up his own peace plan for no good reason I can think of other than his personal animosity towards Zelenskyy. This has now turned out badly for both countries, which IMO was totally unnecessary.

Disrespectful ungrateful children need to be scolded from time to time.

“I won’t agree to even a 10-cent debt repayment in this deal with the US. It’s not about a lack of gratitude—we are grateful. But this was a grant,” — Zelensky commented on the rare earth deal in a Wednesday press conference.

This is not the first time Zelensky has been barking like this. Theyve had to deal with his non compromising argumentative ways before. Trump and team wanted to publicize the type of meetings they have with him to show how difficult he is to deal with. Just a way to get rid of him.

Trump and team wanted to publicize the type of meetings they have with him to show how difficult he is to deal with. Just a way to get rid of him. Exactly this imo. Zelensky several times has agreed to meet about this, only to back away from the proposition unless it's on his terms. Glad they decided to expose his actions publicly in order to avoid it being spun into something else.
