Since it's obvious the OC sucks and I am getting tired of posting about it. This is someone who should be cut.
Get Sims off the Houston practice squad or somebody else.
Use Austin as return man until or even Desmond King if necessary.
Gunnar offers nothing as a:
Return man
Special teams "ace"
Receiver
Blocker
Useless.

Gunner offers absolutely nothing to this team. He shows up in practice, but when the white-hot lights are on and defenses are going 100 mph, he's got nothing. He is a liability out there, and the fact that this guy continues to get significant snaps is one of the all-time headscratchers. Hell, they go out of their way to run plays set up to get the ball in his hands when they can't even get the ball to the star players. I am done with this nonsense with the pet players and the scrappy/all heart guys.
Mike Tomlin....I'm looking at you.

He should have lost his helmet the second he walked to the sidelines after that kickoff return. MT should have looked at him and just said, pack your shit and don’t come back. I was completely speechless when he did that, the kickoff was going OOB, does he not realize that is a penalty and good field position?

One of the most boneheaded plays I've witnessed a Steeler make. Plaxico's spike after he got up untouched is up there as well.

I was amazed when he wasn't traded or released this offseason, I was amazed when he was on the final roster, and I'm still amazed now.
Part of me wonders if this is part of a new trend where the front office is willing to shoot itself right in the dick over relatively small amounts of money if it would mean dumping someone after the first year of a two-year contract. Is that why we still have Canada? Is it over the money? Is it because they're too stubborn to admit they fucked up that soon, or they tell themselves the two-year contract was the contingency against the guy sucking and they're sticking to it because it was a fine plan? This is the first wave of personnel who Khan can 100% consider "his" guys, so I sure hope that's not it.

Trade for what, a bag of dogshit? we seriously have kept some players that probably wont even sniff a practice squad, like this guy and mason rudolph included

Sometimes you can get a 7th-rounder or swap late-round picks for those end of the roster players, but a bag of dogshit would've been fine too.
I honestly don't know why they keep bothering with these shifty little guys who always end up being a waste of a roster spot and stick around for a year too long. Every single one of them has sucked at pro football and we keep saying "oh come on, have patience, maybe THIS will be when he finally gets it and turns the corner!!" But seriously, this guy might be worse than Dri Archer.

In recent years it appears that the Steelers don't fire coaches, they just let their contracts run out and let them go.

That’s just poor coaching on top of a bonehead play. Shitty coaching, shitty player, shitty results.

Yes, exactly. And I don’t know why no one at the post game press conference brought it up. It is Danny Smith’s job to DRILL the rules and different scenarios into his players’ brains. And it is on Tomlin to be on Danny Smith about it.
Could you imagine this happening on a Belichick team? Belichick would fire himself for the incompetence.

Have you watched a Belichick team play lately? They play bad football fairly often now.
Football players are not computers that you can just feed programs into. They are human beings. And by all accounts from former players....really really really really dumb ones at that. They are going to make stupid mistakes on the regular. In fact, I am surprised when they don't.
I don't blame coaches for Gunner catching that punt like he was toe-tapping a winning TD. That is on him for being a useless moron. It isn't like in other appearances he has demonstrated astounding football savvy.

He needs to go. He's had so many bobbles and fumbles and is now in Donte Moncrief terrible signings category.

He cost us the New England game last year and damn near this game if not for some real heroics by JPJ and the rest of the D. Then there was fielding a kickoff rather than letting it go out of bounds so we could start at the 40. I'm good with cutting him.

the thing is Tomlin seems to reward bad performance , so look for Gunner to be the starting X next game

Some WR will twist an ankle and they’ll be like “but he knows the playbook and he won’t fumble this time!”
