Also, the Steelers have multiple players selected as alternates including tight end Pat Freiermuth, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, linebacker Alex Highsmith and fullback Derek Watt.

shows you what a Popularity contest it really is ... (always has been but this is a glaring representation of just how much it is )

as great as TJ is , he is not deserving THIS year but Highsmith certainly is .....

Highsmith deserves it more than Watt this year. Watt is the better player hands down but honestly hasn't even been on the field half the season. Watt was a dong selection :chuckle:

Glad PF got in as an alternate, I know Ravens fans might disagree but I think PF is the second best TE in the conference. Hopefully he’s first team some day soon, with a little help from Pickett and a new OC

I wonder if the talk of the losing record without Watt had anything to do with the fan vote? I'm not sure there is another player around the league that impacts a team/game as Watt.

No. People know the name so they vote for him.

All-Pro is more meaningful as the press votes on that, but I would also imagine getting selected for pro bowls does enhance players' values at contract negotiation time.

Fitzpatrick is definitely deserving, but this has not been TJ's year with the injuries and being out.

Congrats to both. The players typically seem to have a great time there. Where are they having that now?

Highsmith got snubbed!!

11 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. That's more than worthy.

Regardless, add TJ’s sack total for the past two years, divide it in half and he’s pro bowl both years. It’s a great sign of respect that he made it and I’m glad for him.

Won't disagree, but I think the media created a big talking point with the record without Watt.

Definitely did but I think the people voting in those don’t know that…

Watt is arguably the best player in the NFL. He should be in. Heyward got snubbed and proved that tonight- what a performance.
