I think the defense will have a great effort in this game, but the offense.....

I live in New Jersey just outside of Philly so their games are always on TV here. Generally, the Eagles have crushed people in the first half and generally coast thru the 2nd half. So I doubt they keep the route going. My expectation is 31-13. This team is definitely going 2-6 and as long as Canada is in charge of the offense I'm hard pressed to see them winning more than 5 maybe 6 games this year. I'm 56 and been a Steelers fan for as long as I can remember watching football (7-8 years old?) and I can't remember a team that looks so bad on offense as this one regularly has.

That's just it, they won't blow us out, but they will win easily. As Pepsyman said (I too grew up in south Jersey) the Eagles crush teams early and then take their foot off the gas and play to run the clock in the second half. We will keep it close but never threaten to win. The Eagles secondary is really good so expect 2-3 more picks by Kenny.

I said this in another thread: In a way I really don't care if we go 4-13. We NEED to have a season like that so people finally realize it's NOT okay to continue to accept Tomlin barely scraping above .500 as "success".

If Tomlin plays it right...

Steelers: 20

Eagles: 10

Hurt is overrated. He looks at only one receiver. If he feels that one receiver is open, he hurls it. If he feels he is covered, he runs.

Will Tomlin and the rest of the lackluster coaches figure it out? I doubt it.

The weak part of the Eagles defense is the middle of the field. Their strength is defending the pass outside the hash marks. This defense was pretty much designed and runs to defend the Steelers “offense”…lol. It’s going to be gloriously ugly and I hope it makes Matt Canada look silly. Shame on the media for not putting pressure on Tomlin for changes…

Who knows, part of me feels like our defense can keep it close. But with our play calling, we won’t score any points, or enough to make a difference. 2-6 into the bye, can we make the OC change already? Even if the new one is worse (not sure how that could happen) we know for a fact the current isn’t working.

This team needs at least 20 points to have a shot. 2-1 in that scenario.
Problem is, we average 15-16 points and have lost every one with that output.

I imagine we could be losing by 14 before we even get a 1st down...

This offense stinks on ice. Canada has zero clues... wouldn't even know how to buy a vowel with $500
It's obvious every team in the league knows our 5 formations.

Really!?... Holy shit!

The only good game on offense start to finish since last year is against the Broncos and maybe the bears

In the other 3 games, against the chargers they had 27 of their 37 points in the fourth quarter, against the vikings they had 21 of their 28 points in the fourth quarter and I don't consider the game against the Browns at home a good offensive game by the steelers even if Harris had a great game

Tomlin has built his reputation and lasted this long by winning games he’s not expected to. However that was the Tampa win. I don’t know if he’s got another one up his sleeve. If the D can play like last week and capitalize on mistakes this time, and KP plays better I like our chances. 24-16

This is very hard to win the super bow. Some great team did not win a single SB,like the 1970s Vikings, the 1990s Bills or even the eagles in the 2000s.Of course they should be in good position to be a super bowl contender for a few years if Jalen Hurts is for real and if this is the case, this organization would have no issues

I'm not worried at all. I look forward to getting our asses handed to us in Philly. When that happened in 2008 we went on to win the Super Bowl. So logic would dictate that our destiny this year will be the same. :)

Did you do team stuff at practice too?

“I was a participant today,” he said.

Maybe but 2010 was their only year that Vick was great with the eagles.

I think that this game could be close since I think our defense will have a another good game especially if Watt is back.... But it won't be enough because of our awful offense, unless they have a similar game that against the Bengals in week 1

I'm starting to agree with some on here that are wanting more Jaylen Warren carries. I think Najee is the more dynamic player overall but Warren seems to be quicker to the hole and north and south. Those quick bursts upfield for 3-4 yards could start to make a difference for this offense. Play action doesn't work nearly as well with a RB running parallel to the LOS. Plus as was said in a previous post, the Eagles defense has been much better on the boundary than up the middle.

and when one is averaging 3.3 YPC and the other is averaging 4.5 YPC commons sense tell you the guy with the higher average needs to get the lions share of the work until such time that those things change

Well, true to some extent. Number of carries has to be a factor as well. YPC is only a stat.

Yes just a stat but that stat is a representation of result of your body of work so its pretty important ....

UNLESS its based on smoke and mirrors with a 98 yard run and 9 runs of nothing looking like 10 carries 98 yards giving them a 9.8 ypc average ...
