We already know the story on Canada by now. He sucks.

DJ and Chase Claypool have consistently proved they are not reliable playmakers. One of the two needs to be demoted. Bad things happen when they get involved in the offense. George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth are out only consistent playmakers. Pickens is our clear #1 and responsible for our only big offensive plays of the night, so nothing afterwards.

Najee Harris looks like a RB you take in the 4th or 5th round. There's no WR's who are a home run threat.

Everyone wanted to trade DJ. Now they want to trade Claypool. So if it were up to fans, youd have even less at this point. Lol

JuJu look great in KC with a good offensive coach....I am not sure about Claypool but Johnson and Pickens are above average talent

I think the receivers are fine. They need to shore up the line and replace Canada. Does he know how to draw up a route to have his QB hit his receivers in stride?

I don't think he does.

Claypool is a good WR for trying to turn a short play into a bigger one, but the thing that's frustrating about him is for all that size and speed, he's terrible at winning his one on ones down the field. This offense needs to do a better job at picking up chunk plays. Everything has been trying to 10 yard the opposition to death

Seriously. They have players. They just get the ball standing still.

Hey hey, baby steps, can we first get some plays that are designed to go more than 4 yards? Then we can work on getting plays designed to hit players in stride!

I believe the Steelers need more fundamentally/disciplined strong players. That has a lot to do with the coaches, which IMO, the Steelers are lacking. The Steelers look more and more like a high school football team as each year passes.

Play makers? You should not have to expect your WR's to be play makers to do routine things like be open. Pickens shouldn't have to make circus catches to score he should be open. I'm not saying making a great contested catch isn't part of the game but your whole offense should not REQUIRE it on almost every passing play. Perfect example Pickett had to thread a needle to get a first down to Muth on the last drive because Muth was covered so well. Our guys are rarely wide open and that is all on the OC.

This is 99% on Canada.

True...Our WRs are not perfect but team like the packers would be very happy with this core

The WRs would probably like being there as well…at least they have a playbook form the 2000s and not a 1980s high school team.

Just at how our WR are used...JuJu yesterday with KC

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/single/route/team/2022/week/juju-smith-schuster/SMI829709

In week 2 with the steelers last year

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/player/2021/juju-smith-schuster/SMI829709/2021/2/route

Pickens yesterday

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/single/route/team/2022/week/george-pickens/PIC576156

In week 5

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/single/route/pittsburgh-steelers/2022/week/george-pickens/PIC576156

It doesn't help our WRs when Canada asks to always do the same routes!

I do not subscribe to the thread title ....

the sum of your parts is only as good as the blueprint used to try and put it together .........

example you can have all the best ingredients for cake making but if that recipe for the cake produces lousy cakes you may as well have subpar ingredients because the cake is gonna suck if the recipe sucks

he is also a ST ace ...

we paid Heyward bey for several years to be that guy with minimal targets unless we had an injury or was thin that year at WR ...

Have you seen him play STs? He might be the best gunner in the entire league.

Even Antonio Brown in his prime would not be good in this offense. This is that bad!

Crapnada is still trying to figure out how to use him, cmon guys, he already has a lot on his plate with 5 offensive plays to sort through each game, you can’t ask him to involve yet another WR in games. Especially when you can only fit so many 4 yard routes to each sideline before the WRs are physically running into each other.
