So lame, they at least could've tried to make a deal with OnlyFans. Has a nice ring to it. I mean, they'd be doing it for the fans, right?

Why did they go from Field to Stadium?

Not a fan at all.

Probably the worst name in sports.

Sad that such a respected organization felt they had to go with the highest bidder.

Disappointed.

I hope Acrisure goes out of business soon.

Acrisure purchased Pittsburgh-based Tulco LLC’s artificial intelligence business in 2020, giving it a present in the region for the first time. Tulco is owned by minority Steelers owner and billionaire filmmaker Thomas Tull.

You'd think a company that specializes in AI could come up with a better name than that lol

Disappointing that such a prestigious organization caved for some dollars they don't even need.

I hope everyone forever refers to it as Heinz Field and that the new name is not shown on any telecast.

I am embarrassed for them.

Why are people going so crazy over the name change? Who cares what the name of the building is?

I mean, it's nothing to go crazy over, but you have to admit it's a pretty lame name. Bland and generic, where at least the old one had something to do with the city. No one really enjoys things being named after insurance companies.

Why are people going so crazy over the name change? Who cares what the name of the building is?

Because this world is quickly losing every ounce of integrity to the mighty and pathetic dollar.

Politicians are not crooked because they are crooked people, they are crooked for dollars, and all of the people they represent suffer for it.

I get it. Imagine Yankee Stadium, “The House That Ruth Built”, now called Pfizer Park. Big difference. Then again, no one in the Baltimore area really calls it M&T Bank Stadium. It’s simply called Ravens Stadium by most. I suspect most Yinzers will call it Heinz Field regardless of the “official” marque.

It’s a 15-Year deal.

Here’s what Heinz said: "While we worked diligently with the Steelers for several months around a new naming rights deal, they found a new partner willing to pay significantly more than we could justify," the company said in a statement.

Nothing surprising.

There are so many nicknames Steelers fans could come up with and start calling the stadium/field no matter who the official sponsor is.

Just a few I have heard recently:

The Curtain
Ben and Terry's
The RoethlisBowl
NCT (Noll/Cowher/Tomlin)
The Greene House
The Trophy Room

The list goes on indefinitely. You guys have probably heard of some good ones too.

Nope, and can't blame the Rooneys for taking such a deal. They're getting 10 million a year. The Cardinals have been getting 7.7 mill a season since 2006, the Cowboys are getting somewhere between 17-19 million a season. The Texans signed a deal in 2000 (two years before the stadium opened) for 9 million a season through 2032.

This deal sounds pretty much right in the ballpark for NFL naming rights (no pun intended).
