Looking up Gilmore's injury history, he's had 3 concussions so far in his career. Also 3 injury related surgeries on wrist, hip, and shoulder. The site says he's a 50/50 injury risk.

Honestly though, who wouldn't want to play on this defense? You have the DPOY Watt, Cam, Minkah, and being coached by Tomlin, Austin, Flores, and new secondary coach Grady Brown.

at the right price I would be willing to look at any and all options that are upgrades of current roster spots but with injury riddled players I need to have a contingency plan in place so that has to be kept in mind ... leaving yourself thin with at risk players is a dangerous move

my thought is Gilmore and Witherspoon on the outside and Sutton in the slot (where he is best )

If we do go that route / sign a free agent, I’d go after Carlton Davis.

Draft Roger McCreary at 20. Re-sign Witherspoon. Extend Sutton. Sign FA Bobby McCain.

They need more than that in my opinion. They need to get Sutton back inside.

Gilmore seems to be declining with age and injuries, shouldn't be surprising since he will be 32 years old at the start of the season.

Like posted above, Witherspoon need to be taken care of first at the CB position. He's entering his prime and was incredible late in the season.

here is how much of a fraud the pro bowl is. Gilmore started 3 games last year and made the pro bowl. had a completion % against him of 68%. even joe haden only had a completion % against him of 60%.

I know we differ on this. I can see the logic in your method (aquire a couple of starters/fill multiple holes). My thought is that if we go after a free agent, let’s make sure we get a major upgrade. Terron Armstead, Orlando Brown, Carlton Davis…

I just can't trust Armstead to stay healthy. I don't think he has yet played an entire season. Orlando Brown would be awesome. I like Bobby McCain over Carlton Davis, I'm a homer.
