True or False.

I say True. He’ll put up more stats to pad his resume, but he clinched it last night. If he’d stayed in Detroit he would have been borderline regardless of numbers.

I’ll go with false. I think he should but don’t think he will be a lock.

He helped it but he's not a lock.

Well I don't mean if he retires today. I mean he added the one piece of his resume that was lacking and likely would have kept him out. He just needs to play 2-3 more years putting up his normal stat line and he's in.

He'll have to go back and put up some good numbers in the next couple of years. The problem with the HoF is that they don't take into account the team on which you played as in, Stafford having a league-average year on many of those Lions teams equals other QBs having league-level outstanding years on good teams.

On the doorstep. Last drive was perfect but prior to looked like baker mayfield. Another year winning a playoff game or two he’s probably in. D bailed him out big time.

Yeah. I can see that.

Like some others mentioned, he needs another deep playoff run and maybe a season where he tosses less INTs.

Throwing YOLO arm punts on bad Lions team is one thing. Tossing them on a SB team is less good.

If he can put up his normal or better, he could get in.

If he wins another SB he's a lock.

The stats folks on this site need to look where Stafford ranks in all time passing stats AND now consider he is a SB winning QB, with a SB winning drive.

Yes, he can get fitted for a gold jacket now.

Exactly, IIRC he's already 12th in both TDs and Yards... at 34.

I was always a decent Stafford fan, especially when Megatron was with him in Detroit. They had some good teams, but they never went to the top. On talk radio the other day, they were trying to compare him to Marino……best QB never to win a SB. Stafford took care of that, and good for him.

Yup, another 3 or 4 seasons and he will be top 5 in passing yardage all time.

That and the single season receiving yardage record belongs to Cooper Kupp for this season, the 2nd most yardage belongs to Calvin Johnson... and the QB that threw both of them all those footballs is................Matthew "fit him for a mustard color jacket" Stafford.

You dont need PFF, Football Outsiders or some blogger to tell you the stats and make a case. The guy is going to Canton.

not 100% sure the word lock fits , but it was certainly a step in the right direction and another resume builder ... he is close for sure

Yup, for all the people that say...."this WR would gain more yards if he had a better QB throwing the ball to him", have to recognize that the top 2 receiving seasons of all time both have Stafford as a QB throwing to him.

Neither Joey Harrington or Jon Kitna to Megatron was gonna be record breaking, just like Jared Goff to Cooper Kupp wasnt.

I think he should fit a 46R for that HOF jacket. But he can bulk up or slim down in the next 8-10 years, so we will see.

The only thing hurting his resume is only one pro bowl. I think he’ll go to 2-3 more before he retires though.

I don't think the HoF committee gives 2 sh*ts about helping this woman either. I agree that Stafford punched his ticket with this SB win.

I just saw the video for the first time. I don’t watch extracurricular stuff, as I don’t care. But watching it a couple times left me with the impression that he’s a douche. It was the body language of how he walked away. Like, “Not my problem, I’m outta here.”

He knows not to get involved with the non-sense. Lol. Plus he’s wasted drunk from celebrating. Imagine a drunk athlete helping a potentially paralyzed woman up and doing more damage than was initially done.

He’s no doctor. His wife was a RN. What’s he going to do drunk? Fix her or pay for her medical bills? Oh yeah…he is paying…for the bills and the camera equipment. The correct move is to let his RN wife handle it. Sober, medically inclined and protected by Good Samaritan Law.

I haven’t seen anyone upset calling for his head. Not that kind of story. I watched and thought douche move. That’s all. Bizarre response to woman falling. I think most people would see if she’s okay and assist up or call for further assistance after assessing. But who knows these days. But yeah in a few days or maybe by now it’ll be forgotten. Especially after the next player beats his girlfriend.

People walk and drive past accidents all the time. Honestly, I just find the whole armchair analysis of facial expressions and body language since everything is on video now to be kinda ridiculous.

Maybe Stafford is a douche canoe. Maybe he was hammered from drinking all night and next day and just noped out of a situation. Maybe athletes are just programmed to see a person in pain and wait for the medical staff to run onto the field. Maybe Stafford lacks basic empathy and compassion.

Who cares? Unless he pushed her off the stage or gave her a Macho Man Randy Savage flying elbow off the stage, it’s just not relevant or important.

Again, I realize I have a minority view on these types of things. And based on the internet “reporting” on this and how much folks seem to enjoy discussing it; I’ve gotta acknowledge that it does matter somehow someway.

No, you're not wrong. Society has become very quick to judge something on appearances over actual knowledge. Nobody knows the thought or intent, but we can judge based on an assumed thought or intent. Had Stafford tried to help the woman up and it furthered her injury, people would be saying he is a moron for getting involved. There is no winning in the public court.

Obviously not you. But clearly many do. Is acting and looking indifferent towards someone breaking their spine way less important than a football game? We spend lots of time on here talking about something that is literally meaningless in the grand scheme of things. So why does it bother you for a few people to be turned off by something like this and to make a couple comments to that effect?

I mean we could just not play. The AI robots that slam the content into our brain stems only show us what we indicate we want to see. Every time we read, watch, and comment we just tell the algorithm that this is what we want.

Because the same online people that like to post about how no one should judge or cancel people are seemingly the same group that like to cluck and clutch their pearls on stuff like this. If those same internet folks really gave a crap, go find the photographer’s GoFundMe or whatever. I’m sure it’s not hard to find.

People like to play “judge this person on the internet”. Many like the so and so is a shitty human version. My personal favorite is moral hypocrites. Like when a moral majority type gets busted for diddling kids or prostitution.

And before anyone freaks out I’m not rooting for awful crimes against children.

I’m just saying we all have our internet judgement kink. I prefer the variety where some smug moral condemnation dude ends up being a drug addict or a horrible sex criminal.

Others have different varieties. But we are all contributing to the culture of rapid judgement and tearing down of all figures in the public eye.

Personally, I dislike and assume most people are suspect at best. So, screw’em. But…we’re all guilty of it and then we want to know why it’s all judgy and cancelly.
