View Full Version : Is it Ravens Week?

Wow. It’s Wednesday and nothing. Normally it’s a Monday (maybe Tuesday) thread. Very different from season’s past.
My take is…well, I don’t know. In the past three games the Ravens offense has been anemic. A total of 42 points. They scored 10 against the Phins, and 16 twice on the Bears and Stains. That’s rather poor. I know the Steelers D is not up to normal standards, but I still expect this to be a hard-fought contest. Both teams have a lot to lose on Sunday. A Pittsburgh loss puts them at 5-6-1 and will make it tough to get a spot in the post-season. A Ravens loss will put them at 8-4. If the Pats beat the Bills they’ll be 9-4 and if the Bills win then all three teams plus the Titans will be 8-4. And if the Bengals beat the Chargers at home in Cincy (I think likely), they will be 8-4 with the tiebreaker for now.
If the Ravens D plays like they did against the Brownies it could be tough on the Steelers O. But if they come out against the Steelers and give up big chunk yardage plays like the previous two weeks, it may get ugly.
What’s your take?

The Ravens are going to absolutely demolish the Steelers.
Ravens can rush the ball. Steelers can't stop the run.
Ravens defense is pretty good. Steelers offense might struggle to beat a decent college team.
All I got is that "random division game anything can happen" positivity...but man that is getting hard to hang on to.

So there is that. Maybe there will be a zero-zero tie.
Bengals may end up king of the AFCN.

The only thing the Steelers have going for them right now is Any Given Sunday. That's it. This team is a meme.

Can we just have Tucker and Boswell have a fist fight to see who wins?

LMAO. How about a “farthest goofy footer FG” kick competition?

The only way the Ravens lose is if they decide to get cute and work on their passing game. It wouldn’t be hard to get Jackson 300+ yards rushing. Split Villanueva out a half split more than normal, Highsmith will take that inside bait every time and rush the gap, roll Jackson outside that and it’s 15-20 yards a pop. Once the Steelers start defending that (half way through 3rd quarter or so), then run Freeman up the middle. No need to pass…ever.

If Watt and Haden are playing and firing on all cylinders it’ll be a dogfight. Otherwise it’ll be a loss for the Steelers- don’t see any other outcome. Our o line hasn’t matured fast enough, Ben is getting and playing older by the week and Tomlin is busy preparing his mostly blank 3x5 cards.
If it’s not us, I hope it’s the Ravens that win the division.

Trust me. I have NOT forgotten! I’m just glad my daughter and I went to the game against the Chargers. This was my first choice being a division rival but the timing was bad. Turned out the timing was excellent!

I think there's a good chance this is a close competitive game.
we usually defend LJ well, and Baltimore hasn't beaten anyone by more than a TD since Week 6.

It also took ESPN 13 paragraphs to finally admit LeFraud has COVID.
I'm going with a Ravens blowout, 38-13 final. We get a late TD when the Ravens are already thinking about the warmth of the locker room. Oh and Tucker is going to kick an 90 yard FG.

That’s been almost every week this season lol. Like here, there’s fans on Ravens forums who piss and moan about everything. But with the highest number of players on IR, including every starting RB, a PB cornerback, a PB LT, an excellent blocking TE (Boyle is back but is not 100%) amongst others, I really can’t complain. I thought the season was toast before training camp and certainly after the Raiders game.
They ain’t winning pretty, but a W is a W.

First time I've ever picked against the Steelers, but that's where I am. I don't see the defense hemorrhaging again though. Steeler pride will rise up, but it just won't be enough.

LJ isn’t even going to have to run, just hand it off to the 15th string RB you have and let him run through our defense, he’ll, make a challenging and sign a guy off the street tomorrow and he will run for 400yds against what is left of our defense.

I still think this will be close. 19-17 or something like that. Ideally for us, with a game-winning safety by TJ Watt.

I haven't been this apathetic regarding a football team since the starting of Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in the music city miracle game. Buffalo's been my 2nd favorite team since the late 80's because of Jim Kelly, but boy, did I ever turn my back on them after that. Hardly paid that much attention to them until Allen came along. Not saying that will happen with the Steelers. Heck, if you made it through a couple clunker Cowher seasons, this shouldn't be much in comparison. And yet, it feels different. This is the least excited I've felt for a Ravens/Steelers game in I don't know how long. Truth be told, the NFL sticking both games in the last month of the season doesn't help. You can just feel the winds blowing in a different direction and there's a bit of a bite to them.

I'm with you on that my friend. I've always stuck with my Steeler's, but after the past few years and watching this organization NOT wanting to be a improving, why the hell should I ? This organization is garbage right now. I think they are going to lose remaining games, and I personally hope they do so maybe some fire will get under some ass and wake up.

Say what you will about Jackson's ability to throw. He has always been a pretty respectful. That was a pretty though loss for him.

Anyone still rocking a Lipps jersey is not messing around. I'm not sure I'd want to see what he'd have done had the 2 point conversion been successful.
Can you imagine all the broken TV videos that we'd be seeing if the Steelers had lost?
