Does anybody know how rare this film might be? My grandfather shot it in 1960 when he went to the game. There is video only, no audio. It is of the winning HR and the run around the bases, then everybody jumping at home plate (from what I recall- I need to watch it again).

That game has not been shown in over 40 yrs. It is going to be played at a threate in Pittsburgh next month for the first time after the playoff's. You have a gem. You should contact the Pirates organization and see if they want to play it at this event. It's supposed to be a pretty big deal.

Wow very cool.

That was easily the greatest World Series of all time bar none!!! A true David vs Goliath and to have vintage footage of it has got to be something you will treasure forever. Thanks for sharing even though there is no voice it is still it's cool to see the hats flying and the fans cheering.:applaudit:

I sent the Pirates an e-mail and let them know about the video on You Tube. I live in Florida, so I am not going to make the event in person.

I remember reading in the Pittsburgh Post that they had recently found tapes of this world series other than the one posted above and were planning to distribute them on disk once they fixed up the quality and threw it on a DVD.
