If the Browns end up releasing him would you consider bringing him in? If I'm running the show I would give him an opportunity. With Juju being out he could really help out the WR group. He's also a solid deep threat that defenses have to respect. He may be a distraction, but maybe Tomlin is the right guy to keep OBJ under control.

I wouldn't say he's quite AB. Sure, he loves attention, but his off the field antics are nowhere near AB.

He makes everyone know that he’s not getting the ball enough. He has never cared about “team” or winning. Just as long as he gets his. Again, the answer is, never. And he’s brittle. How often has he been hurt.

He's healthy right now. He'd likely only be a Steeler for the remainder of this season, if he did happen to sign.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't know him personally, so you saying he doesn't care about winning is an assumption. I actually don't see a whole lot of difference between Juju and OBJ, in terms of personality. One big difference is the cameras are always on OBJ, so everyone has an opinion on him.

I can't argue that it's probably highly unlikely, but it has at least crossed the mind of someone else.
I remember the Steelers scouted him hard before he was drafted. Tomlin may be the only coach in the NFL that may get OBJ to fall in line. If he’s released I’d take a flyer at him.

Mayfield has thrown more pics than TDs when targeting OBJ ( 8 picks 6 TDs ) with the lowest TD % ( 3 %) of any QB /WR in the league with 200 or more attempts since 2019
so armed with the above information and I am the QB I am looking somewhere else to deal the football too , its just a good business decision

You act like that's all on OBJ. I'm not saying OBJ isn't to blame either, but it's definitely not one sided. OBJ and Baker have 0 chemistry. That is evident.
That stat is also incredibly misleading. In a minimum of 200 attempts to OBJ, it has been intercepted 8 times. You just made it sound like he's likely to throw an interception every time he targets OBJ. That's ridiculous.

Run, your getting comical about this. How in the hell are OBGYN and Ben ever going to work together with eight weeks left. “Go long, and I’ll look for you”. I haven’t seen anything from OBGYN in the last two years that shows me he’s any better than the staff of TEs, WRs, and RBs, that we already have. So let’s call it a day. NO

I stand by my statement that he’s just not a good WR. He made a great catch (that’s been made by many) and the media wanted to crown him as their “latest darling”. He had a good season but he was never good. Too many drops and really the only things he was catching was the “flashy catch”. Was never, ever in a category with Julio Jones or Antonio Brown. Well below the younger Mike Evans, Stefan Diggs, etc.
So I would call this a hard pass. Of the Browns release him (big if), I think the Raiders or Packers would be the best landing spots for him. Saints too since Mike Thomas is out for good this season.

He was a weapon at one time but how much he has left is debatable. If you can get him for nothing, look him over, and bounce him if you don't like what you see, why not?

That's pretty much my thinking. He can get vertical which is what we are lacking. That's why I think he should at least be considered, if only for the remainder of this season.

I am not a fan of bringing OBJ in. I don't think he does much for this roster.
Interesting thing that gets lost in all the noise of this release is how what OBJ does well (get open intermediate and deep) has just never meshed with what the Browns/Baker do well (short and screen stuff).
Dude needs to go somewhere where he can pair with a big armed QB in an offensive system that likes their deep shots. I bet he would look totally revitalized in a place like Buffalo, Baltimore, Seattle, or something along those lines.
For me, the lesson that I see over and over again, is that NFL FA's sign for the $$$ and just do not think about scheme and system fit. Baker Mayfield and the Browns offense is not good at all the things that got Beckham drafted and that he found success in the NFL doing.
If he would have signed with a system that was aligned with his skills; I suspect he would have flourished. Now his body is breaking down and he has a poor recent track record.

1000 yards isnt a great season any longer ..... its a good season thats it ... its the passing era and more games now than when it was the gold standard ..
we dont play 12 games anymore , we dont play 14 games any more and we no longer play 16 games at some point fan bases have to adjust the numbers to what they really mean and quit using the diluted old standard of 1000 yards rushing and or receiving when the season is now 45% longer than it was when those numbers where coined as Milestones ..
his first 3 years were very good years since then he has mustard a couple good years but also 3 seasons that he didnt put up 320 yards ..
he got paid as if he was the best in the game when he was never really close to that and again his attitude makes him less valuable than league min to me , granted that is to me and I dont have much if any influence on NFL franchises but if I did I wouldnt touch this cat

FWIW, My theory is that dude can count. Knows the Browns gotta either pay Baker or another QB. He's an obvious place to go for cap $$$. Also knows, for whatever reason, he's not making splashy plays in Cleveland. So he's gonna need another contract. Wants big money. Doesn't have big money recent tape. So he engineers his way out. Puts #1 WR plays out there and gets that last big contract.
If so, I get it.
