not sure why they would send away future draft capital when they have proven vets on the roster to backup already and guys IMO whom are better or as good as Minshew

It’s got to be they aren’t sold on Hurts. Flacco would be one of best backup QB in league, I was forced to watch many 9ers games and Mullens showed flashes of good play but overall awful so he’s gone now.

I think you're way off the mark with your assessments of both the Philly QB room and Minshew's upside.

I say this is a poor move by Jacksonville. Minshew is already one of the better backups in the league and will likely remain so for a long time barring health issues, and he was on his rookie contract which is far less expensive than what some backup QBs have made. Also Trevor Lawrence has been hit and pressured a lot, his o-line is garbage. I say there's a 95% chance he gets injured and misses time. Minshew is better than CJ Beathard and Jake Luton. Add the 6th round compensation and it is well worth it for Philly

I love Hurts and his story and root for him. Odds are pretty good he’s replaced by Minshew at some point in the year though IMO.

They haven’t been sold on Hurts this whole off season. Flacco has looked much better in game situations. Don’t forget Hurts had to leave a pre game with some sort of stomach issue. Could that be behind this? Probably not but maybe something to keep in the back of your mind.

Minshew is better than Flacco or Mullens. And Jags were basically giving him away.

Hurd might be and likely is much better but Minshew is a far more viable and athletic backup than the decaying corpse of Joe Flacco and the dessicated carcass of the never was that is Mullens.

I can't figure out why all the internet hand wringing over a simple trade to improve the backup QB spot.
