Updating the Steelers’ offensive depth chart 2 weeks before the NFL draft

TE, & C look scary. RB's could use and addition and a few flushes. Not sure why Trey Edmunds is still on this team, 3 years 31 carries for 140 yards and did zero in 2020.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers (https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/) continue to shape their 2021 roster, some things become a little more clear as others still have plenty of questions. Looking specifically at the offensive side of the ball, the Steelers have brought back quarterback Josh Dobbs to add into the mix.

Scary stuff. No QB after this year. No running backs that belong on any NFL roster, with the possible exception of Anthony McFarland, who may still have some potential. A Fullback that doesn't get used. The WR group is solid, but Ray-Ray McCloud could be upgraded. Ebron is a so-so tight end, with no depth behind. Starting tackles are OK, but definitely a position of draft need. Dotson is the standout of the guard group, notwithstanding DeCastro's distinguished career. There is no NFL-caliber Center.

The O line mentions of Joe Haeg and Rashaad Coward are a bit arbitrary IMO. There are other guys like Aviante Collins, Jarron Jones, John Leglue that may supplant them by the time August rolls around.

Also, a guy like Kalen Ballage leaves open the possibility of drafting a smaller RB like Michael Carter, or Kenneth Gainwell, or if they like McFarlane or Samuels as 3rd down backs, it leaves somebody like Tre Sermon in the mix.

The point is, they saddled themselves with Ben's contract and it gets easier in 2022, so expect the depth to be not amazing in 2021 and expect to see O line, RB and TE addressed in the draft in a couple weeks. Every year, fans complain about the Steelers roster and every season they put a good team on the field.
