I'm talking about field goal attempts. There was a player on Kansas City who was 6'10" tall or something close to that that uses to jump up, and be able to deflect long field goals. Sure it didn't happen often, but it can. The NFL decided to ban goal tending and put a hefty 15 yard penalty for those that can do it. Personally I think it could add a little excitement to long field goal tries. As long as a player doesn't touch the goal post, let them try t block it!

You mean they kick goats? Animal rights people might have something to say about that.

Nah. This is dumb. But...each team should get an extra game day roster spot. This spot is for a defensive field goal specialist. But instead of being a super tall dude that can goaltend FG's Dikembe Mutumbo style -- it is a small child or otherwise little person. Then you can have up to (but no more than) two of your other players toss this small human being at the ball in order to block the kick attempt. There will have to be some important language iron out to allow this type of multiple player "helping" but not over-ride existing rules against player assists.

So basically recruiting would start at a dwarf tossing event to find both the tosser and the tossee?

I’m sure there are some retired Cirque Du Soleil performers who might be helpful in this endeavor.

Or what about those guys that flip
Each other up in the air and catch each other? Is that the same as cirque du soleil?

I'd prefer a well-timed pole vault.

Now you’re just being ridiculous. Can’t have a pole on the field or a hole in the ground to anchor said pole. I mean what kind of penalty will be called when the pole misses the hole and hits a player in the eye? Or worse...in the ass?

pa-ASS interference?

I have three questions.

1. Is this female pole vaulting?

2. Will they be scantily clothed?

3. If so, is there pay-per-view?

With the 200th pick in the NFL draft... she'd look good in a Steeler uniform, jus sayin ;)

Why not make it so the only ones that can do the goal tending is the cheerleading squad, who toss eachother up to block the field goals. so cheerleaders can actually have an effect on the outcome of the game, you know, gender equality and all :chuckle:
