Ben Roethlisberger said he and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ veterans called a players only meeting following Monday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. But Roethlisberger made it clear it wasn’t to address the three-game losing skid the team is on. Roethlisberger said the goal (https://www.steelers.com/news/ben-it-starts-with-me) was to get the young players on the team ready for the playoffs.
“It had nothing to do with the losses,” he said via the team website. “It had everything to do with where we are and where we’re going. We’re getting ready to go into the playoffs.”

Interesting.

I would think you’d want to address a three-game skid (including two with teams with losing records) with two games to go before the playoffs. But what the hell donI know? I never played in the NFL. But in all honesty, I would think the Steelers do not want to go 0-5 entering the playoffs, and possibly hand over the division title to Cleveland after starting 11-0.

I thought the same. Address the elephant in the room because if the Steelers lose this week vs Indy they will NOT beat the Browns in Cleveland, at that point they would be a wildcard team.

From what I read, from what was leaked by the players on Twitter, the message was (in essence):

Forget about “winning” the next two games... use these next two games to find our groove [in order to get ready] “for the playoffs”.

I can’t disagree with that sentiment.

Agreed, I don't know how you could avoid talking about .Ben's knows he's the main culprit for his bad play and has admitted so publically. Saying he needs to play better.

HELL, that could be part of the problem........they don't even know how to have a fuc@ing meeting !!!! How can you sit with the player's and NOT capitalize on the miss tackles, dropped passes, bad passes, wrong routes, dancing ass on logos, etc., and how to do your job ? Meetings are supposed to motivate and educate, and correct problems. This explains alot of their shit playing to bottom feeders, because they don't know who the bottom feeders are. ( ugh, what a joke )

If he talked about it, then the media would talk about how he criticized “the kids” and how they deserve so much better. Losses are done. It’s behind them. Going forward is all that matters now...

Exactly !! Put a name and face on all the stupid fuckups, all the stupid penalties, missed routes, etc... it's all on films so bring it to their attentions....just like when they can't catch the ball their asses hit the bench, so everyone knows what they are there for. Bring mistakes to the forefront. Apparently they need to try it.
