Glancing at the standings this morning I realized an interesting stat. The Steelers lead the NFL in net points at +123 (334 PF/ 211 PA). The Chiefs are second at +116 followed by the Saints at +106.

There's such a recency bias in sports today. For example, if the Bucs win big on Sunday they will likely be Super Bowl favorites again.

The Steelers have consistently been getting it done all season. Now they have some personnel losses and need to step up against a quality opponent on the road.

I don't think any of us expected the Steelers to be sitting at 11-1 before the season started. Yet some can only find fault and criticize. If the backups step up, there's no reason this team can't win it all.

I've read somewhere that net points is a reliable indicator on how strong a team is. Too early to start panicking, I think they bounce back against Buffalo.

However, the injury to Bud Dupree honestly has me worried. Vince being out doesn't worry me as much since we have a veteran backup in Williamson.

It looks like Pouncey and Conner will be back, which can only help the run game.

I think this is the bigger fix (Pouncey / Conner). We haven’t hit 100yds rushing in a few games. The other issue is the deep passes, need to start hitting a few of those each game which will open everything up. Right now teams are just stacking the box and taking away the run and short passing game.

Plus it gives you chance with PI when throwing deep to Claypool especially. Hes had a few this year. Thats what was frustrating last week.

Could be worse - the Bills haven't won a playoff game since 1995.
