This game could range anywhere from a blowout win to a blowout defeat. It is a division game on a short week. I do not care how many the Ravens have lost recently. This is a rivalry game. Throw the records out the window.

Based on recent history...it will be close. It will be physical. Two-three plays will make all the difference.

And their backs are getting close to the wall. If they fall to 6-5 the playoffs are a very big uphill climb for them at that point (although their remaining schedule is softer than a newborn's poop; v.Dal, @Cle, v.Jags, v.Giants, @Cincy).

Now with them being forced to close their facilities on a short week. Ouch.

With Alualu back, we stop the run, control your pass rush lanes, contain Jackson and force Jackson to throw to Minkah!

Don’t think there can be a reschedule of this game especially if they have a full blown outbreak... it will continue beyond next Tuesday (8 days from today)

I don’t wish this on anyone, but as a team fuck them, hope they are forced to forfeit [emoji1787]

Would be a nice bye week finally if they do forfeit [emoji1417]

So Tenn. as a state has a highish case load. I guess Baltimore could have contacted it during travel.

But this is an almost every week thing with this team. Almost weekly, multiple players test positive on Monday. At what point does the NFL step in and penalize this organization for almost certainly playing fast and loose with COVID protocols and putting positive players on the field each Sunday?

Look, I am no big believer in the NFL's COVID policies as it is. Weird how every week by Saturday magically the testing all works out enough to play. Right...because that is how viruses work. I strongly suspect that there is a great deal of fudging going on to allow a gabillion dollar industry to go off as close to business as usual as possible.

BUT...the Ravens and Raiders just seem to be constantly running into the same problem(s). I kinda feel like the league has to do something. At least for the "optics"...again...half-formed ideas...

McDonald scheduled to practice this week, and hopefully back for Thursday...

Which would be a big plus, since Gentry didn't even last a quarter.
Basically leaving us with Hawkins and Ebron.

Gentry has a knee sprain so he'll be on IR for 3 weeks. Do they get a free agent or just call up from the PS.

Bring up Kevin Rader, most likely... then scratch him on game day for McDonald, Ebron and Hawkins.

I wonder if Dotson will clear as well this week.

The Ravens are built just like the Steelers. Just when you think they are finished, they rise up and punch you in the face. There is also the factor of lingering resentment in the Ravens' locker room that they totally let the Steelers off the hook last time. They shut down Ben and the Offense for most of the game, piled up 265 yards on the ground, and still lost. A chance to save their season with a big win over their fiercest undefeated rival? Baltimore will come prepared and ready to play. Will they win? Probably. But if the Steelers repeat their sleepwalking performance like last game, this game won't be close at all.

I lean toward blow out win. Why? Lamar Jackson hasn't been playing well and is throwing his team and the coaching staff under the bus. Not only are the Rats missing players due to Covid-19, their key player is in a spiral coming down to earth and its going to be quite an impact. Just a hunch the chemistry on the Ravens is not good. Look at recent results.

The Steelers will win big, our critics will say yeah but they had good players out of this game.

Whatever. 11-0 here we come.

Maybe it was? I get stuff wrong all the time. That would be funny if teams started "biohazarding" other teams' facilities.

Regardless...there are handful of teams that COVID positives are a weekly occurrence for on Sunday night/Monday mornings. Be nice if the league grew a pair and actually did something. I am not saying just start doling out penalties/punishment. But like actually look into it...

I would not be shocked if that did happen. Lots of money could be at stake.

Some of the NFL Covid protocols make sense but some just seem to be window dressing. I don't know why the daily testing isn't done in other professions as well. Or at least weekly testing.

The scary thing is that we have to play them this week. If whatever they are doing is leading to this then I hate the fact our guys have to be on the same field as them.

They now have 10 more positive tests as of today (Tuesday).

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-learn-of-more-positive-covid-19-tests-following-two-running-backs-heading-to-reserve-list-per-report/

Not good. They better test EVERY damn player/personnel making this trip! At this point F postponing this game. The Ravens can take the forfeit and move on.

I am not against that. I just think it is highly suspicious that the Ravens test positive every single Monday. And I am supposed to believe that they are following the protocols to the same degree as everyone else?

I guess there is some math somewhere that says that is in the realm of possibility/probability but based on what I am reading, it is clear that the Ravens, Raiders, and Titans are not really dealing with all this the same way as the rest of the league. And that is, frankly, bullshit.

But there is NO WAY the NFL is cancelling a Thanksgiving Day game. They will make these dudes play in HAZMAT gear before they let that happen.

86WARD

The Ravens clearly aren’t following the proper protocols. There is no way the league should move a Thanksgiving game to cater to a team that’s not following proper measures to keep their players safe. Ravens have a practice squad and they have back up players. Next Covid Free Man Up.

Plain and simple, the NFL disgusts me at this point. I know a couple of running backs for the Ravens tested positive, but haven't heard anything other than that. Regardless, they've undoubtedly received the league's schedule-blessing with the Steelers twice now this season. I hope the Steelers stomp the crap out of them Sunday. This bologna favors teams whose players apparently aren't following protocols and punishes those that do.

For that, maybe. But the Steelers players (according to some who are in contact with them) were looking at this weekend as their break since they didn't have a bye week (they were practicing through most of the week for the Titans before the game was canceled). So, the big question is how much will this tax them mentally not having that extra time off before they get ready for December football.

The NFL is so irritated that the Steelers are 10-0 that this really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. MY conspiracy theory side says that the only way the Chiefs ( the NFL darlings) get the #1 seed is if the Steelers are beaten by Baltimore this week so it gives the NFL time to come up with positive test results from guys like D.Johnson, Claypool and/or JuJu. The fact is the NFL would never do this to KC,Green Bay or Seattle because it might interrupt the flow. Its beyond ridiculous that this has happened to the Steelers twice neither instance their fault and the Steelers just have to take it.

He did not initially report his symptoms to the team, did not wear his mask or tracking device consistently, and exposed the virus to others while infected. Ravens have punished him, but the damage had been done. I hope Steelers transfer their anger about this game to the field on Sunday.

I’m fine with postponing (so that our players have less chance of getting sick). But, I can see why the players are IRATE about not getting a mini-bye-week.

Nah, more like slap on the wrist. They pinned him as the fall guy and said they were "punishing" him as a way of making it seem like they are taking adequate action. Really though, this was a way for them, a team on a slump, to avoid playing on the road on a short week against their 10-0 rivals. I can understand adding weeks to the regular season to get all teams the chance to get all games played. How can the league justify changing the playoffs format this late into a season, basically moving the goalposts while simultaneously punishing the top teams and rewarding struggling teams?

The Ravens may still lose more games before they see another win so an 8th seed does not necessarily mean Ravens. The 2nd game with the Browns is not an automatic win and the Cowboys could be a tough out. If the Steelers handle their business and the Ravens fall to the Cowboys and Browns that puts them on a 6 game losing streak and a 9-7 finish at best.

The Bills vs Chargers is an interesting game this week. A Bills(7-3) loss and a Dolphins(6-4) win vs Jets ties the AFC East with one head to head remaining.

The Bills beat the Raiders and the Raiders and Dolphins play later.

All this just to point out that the Ravens are not the automatic 8th seed should the league decide to screw it up.

CREAM. Basically the NFL is the whitest member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Money. If you add a playoff game or two, you make up some of the lost TV revenue from cancelled weeks of the season or whatnot.

Money is always the answer in every business decision. Not just the NFL. My question was more about justifying changing the playoffs format this late in the season. That makes no sense even from a money POV. But I guess the teflon coated NFL can do whatever they choose week to week with zero ramifications. I would imagine if an 8th spot is added the top 2 teams in each conference would get a bye just as it has always been.

And more to my point, any 8th seed addition is not necessarily the Ravens' spot to lose. It's highly contested right now. Heck, even the Chargers could find their way in if they somehow win out, based purely on conference losses.

Depending on how the NFL schedules it...and I haven't looked into it at all...it could mean an extra televised playoff game. 7 teams and a bye is two games a conference in round one. That's a full slate on Saturday and Sunday. Add an 8th team and take away the bye for everyone...that's two additional games. So add a double header on Thursday or Monday...BOOM!!! Gee...almost like their is an unchecked pandemic going on or something.

Be interesting to see what the next round of testing shows. Based on what I think the NFL's approach seems to be is that if there are NO additional positive tests tomorrow...game on. As the "outbreak" would be "contained". If either team pops more positive tests...then they are likely forced to move the game to a Week 18?

Again, this is why a multi-bye week schedule from the start would have made far more sense than the denial based plan the NFL chose to ride or die with.

Yes, this is true. Andrews being diabetic does statistically have risk of more complications as illness generally messes with your blood glucose levels. Him being in good physical condition likely helps him out, but if Von Miller said it took a toll on him with his asthma, it could be tough on Andrews as well.

I think we are all old enough to understand money talks. Here is the pivot point though, IMO. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, the day after tomorrow, 2 days away. 22 players have tested positive with 2 testing positive just this morning. This is still an ongoing outbreak. Matthew Judon just tested positive. There are something like 22 Ravens players who have the ‘rona. :scared: Speaking from an ego-centric standpoint: I’d be scared to play against them (for fear of losing Steelers players for the next two weeks). I wholeheartedly agree: postpone this game.

Matthew Judon just tested positive. There are something like 22 Ravens players who have the ‘rona. :scared: Speaking from an ego-centric standpoint: I’d be scared to play against them (for fear of losing Steelers players for the next two weeks). On a more altruistic scale: how can they let a team so depleted take the field???

One last thing: as I have avered repeatedly, the NFL should have postponed this game already... so that the Steelers players could have taken the past week off.

I think the Ravens should have to forfeit the next game they make another team wait for. They've used up all their good fortune.

As much as I want to play this game this highlighted quoted part is why I agree, just postpone it.

Run up a quick 4 score lead in the first quarter against a team that can barely field starters, then get all of your '1s' off of the field. Call up a bunch of PS / grocery-bagger types off of the street, give 'em a hat and let them be 'Rona sponges for the remaining 3 quarters, keeping the starters healthy for another week.

All kidding aside, even playing this game on Tuesday has me nervous. Baltimore is turning into a walking petri dish with all of their infections. Leave it to those jackasses to play the game, lose by 5 touchdowns and still manage to screw the Steelers with infections for the remainder of the season.

Even though this game will be an absolute curb-stomping given the loss of talent on Baltimore's roster, I'd breathe a sigh of relief if the game gets postponed.

That and the Ravens players wouldn't have gotten on the plane and showed up for the game. Some sources are saying with the support of the NFLPA.

So to recap, the NFL has no plan besides stubbornness. And the players union, who ownership and the league have stuck it to in the last 2 labor negotiations, has almost zero interest in supporting the league's policies.

Weird. There is NO way anyone could have seen this coming. Nope. Totally impossible.

Can’t say I agree when I compare it with NCAAF, MLB and the NBA. I’d rate the NFL first overall. Kudos to the NBA for the bubble but cancelling the season for several months was an overreaction. And the NCAAF schedules are a joke.

Zero games cancelled is a good accomplishment so far.

I’ll admit that 9 times out of 10 I’ll side with management.

I find a couple of things odd...

1) NBC was adamant about keeping this game (I get it: it’s Ravens-Steelers). Yet, they move it to a weekday timeslot when few can actually watch the game.
:director: GIVE IT TO CBS!!!

2) The Ravens conveniently get 11 players back on Wednesday (specifically their top two RBs). It appears as if they “could” have played on Tuesday, but by throwing a tantrum, the Ravens worked the system.

Allegedly.

2-a) Convenient that the Ravens don’t play again until Tuesday. It’s almost as if by playing on Monday meant playing without their starting QB... but, that extra day would give them allow their starting QB to play (or something asinine like that). The NFL certainly wouldn’t bend over backwards for one team, while making another team play with a RB as their QB.

3) People keep saying that the Steelers “got their bye”... some even say that they got it TWICE. Time off from playing is nice, but it is NOT a bye. The players have had to stick around every day / prepare for the game (whenever this was going to be played)... and they could not take a mini-vacation. Nope... that isn’t a bye.

I wonder if Harbaugh is thinking “long term / big picture.”

OPTION 1:
Play your top two RBs without your starting QB. Possibly win, but also have to play again on a shortened week (with tired & worn out RBs) which could result in two losses.

OPTION 2:
Concede this game, but have a full (& RESTED) roster for next week’s game. Lose today, but almost “guarantee” that you win next week’s game.

Combine that with the fact that Gus Edwards isn't exactly chopped liver and it all makes a bit of sense. Heck, I would rather start Gus Edwards than either Benny Snell or McFarland.

Of course now, Edwards will gain 8 yards and Snell will get 800...

Indeed

Gus Edwards is no joke (although, I had heard that Justice Hill is getting the “start”).
