how do you go from being a 1st round pick in the NFL draft and highly successful rookie starter in the league to a felon in a year potentially facing life in prison for not 1 but 4 counts of armed robbery ?
I mean why ?????
you couldn't of needed the money that badly could you ?
you are living the dream or are supposed to be .....

When you steal, you don't plan to get caught. Why steal if you've made rookie first round money? THAT is the real question. IMO, character flaws like that should have been known. They have have been known and ignored so I think the answer to your question is this.
He has sketchy character (at best) and should NOT have been drafted but since he has talent, the "red flags" were mistakenly ignored.

Wasn't there a coach or a GM who said the NFL would draft an alleged murderer if he was good enough.

Criminal behavior is not a side effect, it's an established trait. You don't become a criminal by convenience. A thief is going to steal, a con artist is going to scheme. PERIOD!

"If Hannibal Lechter ran a 4.3 - 40, he would be diagnosed with an eating disorder and signed to a contract".
Real life examples would be Leonard Little, Christian Peter and Greg Hardy.
