While developing a COVID vaccine, you accidentally developed a “magic potion” that can change history. The weird thing is, the vaccine is one dose of a black and yellow coagulation that can only change one thing in Steelers History.
What one thing would you change in Steelers History? Could be a draft pick, a roster move, a play, etc.

Draft Dan Marino.

There are several but for recently, Ryan Shazier remains healthy and the defense not collapse for the remainder of the 2017 season....

I will go along with PB. Shazier stays healthy and the defense still has Bush, Edmunds, and MF.
That collection of athletes flying around the field would be something to see.

Draft Dan Marino.
Man, Marino w/Stallworth and Lipps, then later with Eric Green, Yancey, Mills, CJ, Hastings.
Marino automatically changes that 4th and goal vs the Chargers in the 94 AFCC game. (That's 2 changes for one)
Oh, to dream.
Marino would have been #1, but they also had Johnny Unitas too- with no team around him. Marino would have delivered championships.

All the things that have been presented are really good, but I am betting most Steeler fans would go with drafting Dan Marino as number 1.
That being said I can think of a few others that I wish I could change and have not yet been mentioned. Neil doesn't throw the 2nd Int. to Brown in SB 30. We have a healthy backfield vs Raiders in championship game in '76. We don't play so conservative vs Chargers in championship game and instead blow their doors off and go on to do the same to the 9ers in the SB.

Give Marino to the Steelers.
I would say Johnny U to have some pre NFL championships, but then that may have messed up the 70s dynasty. Johnny U goes down in 68 and they get Greene but I am not sure the head coach gets fired after '68 with Johnny U gone and then his return likely blockades the Bradshaw selection. Some would say Marino affects draft position, but the Dolphins weren't so much better than the Steelers in those drafts, they would have at least most of those pieces with a much better QB to offset some losses. I'd say Noll still retires to get Cowher in and certainly Ben is long gone

What about Jesse James TD?
How about Mendenhall doesn’t fumble?
AB doesn’t take a hit?

For Jesse James it was a huge play but it was still only a regular season game and the steelers were still in an excellent position in the standing .... It was not the case for our defense without Shazier
For AB, I'm one of those people who doesn't believe that Burfict's hit had an impact on the meltdown on Brown .... Tomlin was still able to control Brown in 2016 and 2017, although it wasn't always easy. ... In 2018, it was not longer the case, but it was 3 years after the hit.
For Mendenhall, it was painful, but it was still 21-17 at this time and 31-25 with the ball with 2 minutes left in this game .... I liked the chances of the steelers winning the game, but It didn't happen but Mendenhall's fumble wasn't the reason why the steelers lost .... There were other mistakes!

I tend to think the same about AB and his stepfather has pretty much confirmed AB has been some sort of asshole his whole life.

I would just change one play: The first play in the September 9, 2002, season opener against New England.
Instead of: Tom Brady pass incomplete intended for Antowain Smith
Substitute: Tom Brady SACKED by Joey Porter; torn left ACL, torn right ACL, torn rotator cuff
There, Joey just saved the entire league nearly two decades of dumb horseshit.
