The annual NFL Wonderlic scores are out. Most teams want their QB to be 20 and above. Anything under a 15 is a red flag. A score of 10-13 essentially means you cannot read.
Where did Tua score? Scroll down below:
Wonderlic scores for 2020 NFL Draft quarterbacks
Nate Stanley: 40
Jake Fromm: 35
Joe Burrow: 34
Jake Luton: 29
Jordan Love: 27
Justin Herbert: 25
Anthony Gordon: 25
Brian lewerke: 25
Jacob Eason: 23
James Morgan: 23
Jalen Hurts: 18
Tua Tagovailoa: 13
Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa had the lowest Wonderlic score of the 2020 draft-eligible quarterbacks with a 13, according to McGinn. That is below the historic average of 20 (out of a possible 50 points) based on data gathered from wonderlictestsample.com (https://wonderlictestsample.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/).
If memory recalls, the Steelers did draft Kordell Stewart and Tee Martin who scored a 13 on the Wonderlic.

This is not a red flag...The great Dan Marino was at 16...The last MVP,Lamar Jackson was also at 13.

That won't matter. What will matter is the doubt if he will ever be 100% healthy again.

Yes, it is a red flag. Jackson had a great 2nd year, but they put him in an ideal system, and if he has to pass he's mediocre. IMO he won't be as good in 2020.
Marino had an all world arm, a lighting release and accuracy. He was also 6'4" tall
Tua is 6 feet tall, not very bight and is very injury prone. The low wonderlic score ( 13 ) will I think cost him. He's probably the 3rd QB drafted now.

If he took it again and got a 19 ( NFL agents can give out answers ) that's passable, but the average wonderlic score QB Is 24. A 13 means the player isn't very bright, which is what Tua scored. While it's not everything, it's clearly part of the process. No QB with a low wonderlic score has ever had a passer rating over 90. I still think this is a red flag with a player that already has too many. Well see, Tua could very well be the 3rd QB drafted.

Lamar Jackson was placed in an Offense that maximized his talents and minimized his weaknesses as much as possible. When he is put in a situation where he has to throw the ball, or make plays with his arm, he's mediocre. He also cannot throw outside very well nor is he accurate. Jackson is finished the minute he loses a step.
Marino had such raw talent that it didn't even matter. It also helps that he had elite receivers in the Marks Brothers early in his career to throw to.

Put Peyton Manning in a situation where he has to run like Lamar Jackson, he will struggle too
Of course this is important for a player to be in a good situation but you must be able to take advantage of this too ... Jackson led the league in TD pass in 2019 too.
Maybe Jackson is only going to be great for 6-7 years, but in the NFL, it's right now that matters not in 5-6 years...

The flaw with that logic is that QBs generally pass first so if you are an elite passer, you're not really expected to have to run. BUT, if you are an elite runner, you ARE still expected to pass.

And Jackson was very good at running and passing last year which is not a bad thing.

There's a big, discernable difference between being able to pass and having to pass. Lamar Jackson can throw the football, but there will be situations where he'll have to throw, not when he can, when he has to. So far, he is very mediocre at it and it is his greatest weakness. Passing was a luxury to the Ravens, not a necessity to their game.
The Ravens did a great job avoiding that kind of situation all season. They rarely faced a big deficit where their run game was shut down, but even they weren't able to hide from it forever. The moment they faced a situation where their vaunted run game wasn't working and Jackson had to make things happen through the air, and the results speaks for itself. 12 total points after setting offensive records in the regular season.

Do you know that the Ravens had a historic running game because of Jackson since he is their starter?...A running back is always going to be better behind a fast QB like Jackson ... It was the same with the Falcons with Vick, but the difference is that Vick was just awful as passer no matter what but Dunn was still great because of Vick despite that.I think that Vick would been great with a HC as Andy Reid for most of his career but this is a another story.
Their playoffs loss was because they were awful like crazy in situation football in this game ... 530 yards on offense but only 12 points..They were not shut down, they just could not finish their drive.

The Titans also played a lot of prevent after going up 28-6. Sitting back and letting Jackson do whatever he wants, because the Titans Defense knew Jackson wasn't going to beat them. Baltimore didn't score an offensive touchdown until Garbage time.
It's Blake Bortles syndrome. Useless garbage offense stats to make the QB look good on the fantasy stat sheet in losing efforts.

The Ravens were awful in situation football in this game even when it was 14-6.The Ravens had moved the ball all game long... Don't compare Bortles to Jackson please.

It was originally reported to be a 13 but today they were reporting it at 19. That's not great but it's not Vince Young territory either. Bottom line is it will have zero impact on his draft position.

It's like anything else. There may be a couple organizations that it may concern a bit, but overall, I don't think it will be a factor.
Any team that desperately needs a QB is probably going to look at his film and see that he made mostly great decisions and was extremely accurate with the football.....and draft him. That usually indicates very good football IQ and judgement, and doesn't make anyone think that he is dumb.
