He refused the other time(before the franchise TAG) 33 million per year with over 100 million guaranteed, is 40 million a year realistic for Dak?

The longer it will be, the more it will cost for the Cowboys .... If the Cowboys wait after Mahomes' contract, if he has one this year, the price for Dak will be even higher even if he may not deserve. .

Call it a hunch, but I think the Cowboys are prepared to walk away and start over if the demands are too crazy. Prescott is clearly trending more toward the Tier 2, or at least the Tier 1A group, than the champion who's going to win you the Super Bowl himself. He works on the right budget, but if you blow the doors off the market for him, you're going to be hurting yourself. Prescott for $40 million is just a lose-lose. They just got through that with Romo, so they may be ready to make that call.

This situation is more and more like Bell's situation with the steelers couple years ago ... When the team and the player seemed close to an agreement, the price of the player went up afterwards!

We will see if it will be a financial win for Dak at the end.
