View Full Version : Any of our starting L-backers for Ray Lewis?

Anyone make an even swap of any of our starting backers for Ray? Farrior would be the only one that's close age wise. I personally like what Farrior brings in smarts and leadership. Plus I couldn't stand seeing Ray come dancing out of our tunnel even if he was wearing the Black and Gold.

Only if we were having target practice.

No thank you, I like our LB corp as it is.

Yeah... no thanks. I'll gladly keep what we've got.

:puke:

I wouldn't even trade a retired Jerry Olsavsky for Ray Ray. I know he's one hell of a football player, but I can't stand that asshat.

I don't need the song and dance! The LB's are fine with me and have exceeded expectations. I would rather have Foote then Ray Ray. God I hate even typing that name, though he is a great LB I still can't stand him.

Now, hell no.

Maybe if the Steelers drafted him in '96, damn straight. Otherwise, I want nuthin' to do with Ray.

How do you guys really feel? :chuckle:

Personal feelings aside, can you imagine our defense with him apart of it? It would be [double rainbow] intense!! With even more weapons on our D, I'm not sure the other team would even come out of the tunnel to play!

At this point in time, I would say none of our LB's... Age is a factor. I wouldn't give up Woodley or Silverback. Years ago, I might have given up Joey Porter.

You start a thread to provoke disscusion. Plus I'm interested to see if there are any takers. As of now I pretty much got the response I expected.

He's better than Farrior (Nothing against Potsie) so I'd swap them out.

Lewis brings just as much leadership and smarts as James does. Probably even more.

I don't care if I like him or not. I wouldn't send him any Christmas cards, though he seems like a good guy, but I want to win. Give me Ray.

Only if he leaves his Ginsu knife at home.

Seriously - HELL NO. Though I cannot deny that he is a tremendous LB and a lock for the HOF, I am content as a clam with the LB's we have and Farrior's quiet brand of leadership is much more appealing, imho.

Nope. I'd never, ever want to see him wearing black and gold and I know I couldn't ever root for him. Don't care how good he is.

No way. He's become a step slower than he was a few years ago, but he can still hit like a Mack truck. I'll keep our current LB corps as-is, tyvm.

You never saw Jack Ham dance, even after he ran back a Pick6.

Or when my Dad and I personally witnessed Dobre Shunka smashing the living shit out of the (then Baltimore) Colts' QB and Andy Russell picking it up and running it 93 yards to the Steelers EZ at TRS at the AFCC in 1975. Andy didn't dance - he collapsed in the EZ and needed a huge whiff of O2. :applaudit: I'll never forget that play.

No. Ray's not the same player as he used to be.

The longest slowest runback in NFL history.

Don't really need him... but it would be like the Chicago Bulls picking up Dennis Rodman...they whipped some azzzzz.... Anyway. They (Raven's) got Rod Woodson... and got him a SB. Ray, who's not getting younger, should know the shortest path to a SB trophy for him is via the Steelers... it 'would' be a return of the favor... Besides. Ray is 'deep' into God now... "THIS" Ray would only benefit the team...

I'd take him for Farrior in theory. Which to say, as long as we're ignoring the fact that I don't want an asshole on the team.

OK, you got me.

For a split second I thought the same thing...

Then I too started pondering the affect it would have on the team.....the asshole factor....frequent flea baths....

and or course having to install metal detectors in the the locker room...

Plus potsie knows the system and is a great team mate.

The way things is right now I would keep what we have but I think back in his prime I would take him. Love him or hate him he was one hell of a linebacker.
