True, but what high-profile coach worth his salt would be stupid enough to take that job?

Most people assume it will be Lincoln Riley. College coaches would be more willing to take a job where others are responsible for many aspects of the game. They have no experience being a coach at the NFL level and it would make the transition easier because there is less to handle.

Still a high-profile guy, but willing to let Jerry be Jerry and he will figure the rest out later.

I guess we'll see what they do pretty soon.

Total miss by me on what Jerry would do - did not see Jerry hiring a retread who Rodgers ran out of Green Bay

Cowboys hire Mike McCarthy as next head coach

According to Jay Glazer of FOX, the Cowboys have agreed to terms (https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/1214198407369117697) with former Packers boss Mike McCarthy to be their next head coach.

McCarthy...lol. Doesn’t matter who is in charge as long as Jerrah is the “GM”...

This will go well for about 3 seasons. Then Mike will run out of ideas, again.

Apparently the only two interviews were with McCarthy and Marvin Lewis

I recall the Cowboys lost to the Packers five years ago in the playoffs but am clueless why Jerry decided he needed to hire McCarthy immediately given that McCarthy has been seeking any open job with no takers after Aaron Rodgers fired him - it is not as if there was going to be a multi team bidding war
