Every good to great player is always compared to a predecessor at their respected postion.

I here Adrian Peterson and Jim Brown or Earl Campbell, Chris Johnson to Barry Sanders, and Ray Rice to Marshall Faulk.

I wanna know what past running back great does Steeler Nation compare Mendenhall's running style to?

The spin move, yes, but I think Davis had a bit of a longer stride in his run. Close, but...no cigar. IMO.

Chris Johnson to Barry Sanders

No one runs anything like Barry Sanders. At least not successfully.

I heard somebody back in his draft year say he was kind of like Eggerin James in his cutback running, but has more speed than Edge.

I always thought he was similar to Ricky Williams - Minus the dope habbit and better work ethic

My thought too, but IMO Williams is a little bit quicker to the hole. But they have the same silkiness to their style.

I've always seen him as a weird mix of LT, Faulk and Edge

faulk's and LT's pass catching ability are a little lost on him though. And edge was certainly more powerful too

Edge, Ricky Williams, Terrel Davis..I'll be happy if he has a career close to anyone of those guys.

Not so much the Terrell Davis or Ricky Williams Career...I'd actually be very disappointed if he had a career like Davis' more so than Ricky's.
