Chris Hoke did not practice again today. He told me he’ll try tomorrow, but he’s not sure. He has a second-degree sprain of the MCL in his right knee, same degree Byron Leftwich received Sept. 2.
Doug Legursky will remain the starter at right guard not only for this game but coordinator Bruce Arians thinks he can remain there a long time, he said after practice today. He’s not tall, but he’s big enough and knows all about leverage. Trai Essex, who held that job, has not practiced this week because of a sprained ankle.........

good to hear legursky is holding down the position at RG! He deserves it he has worked hard! I think the interior of the line is looking really good now, but still concerned on the outside the ratbirds will test the tackles this week for sure

At 6-1 315lbs the guy isnt huge for an OG in the NFL, but he is strong, athletic and uses angles well to block. The cool thing is that a 3-4 plays to his strengths. Watch him this sunday......he will do a lot of combination blocking, where he will double the down lineman at first, then get to the LB on the 2nd level.

I honestly thought that is where Darnell Stapleton had success, without a lineman over him, but Legursky can also handle the 4-3 DT's. I still wish Urbik had made the squad, he will turn out to be a serviceable OG in the NFL.

I knew he had good measurables (bench press, etc.) but it sounds like has good football strength and I'm hoping to see some of that "athleticism" this Sunday!

To be drafted so late and be transitioning to a good pro lineman fairly quickly certainly speaks to his desire, attitude and work ethic.

Woo I think the OL played phenomenal last game and didn't even give up a single sack! Legursky is an upgrade over Essex and I like what he showed up against the Bucs D. It's going to be a tougher test for him and also Ill be watching to see how Pouncey performs against the Rats and Gregg, Ngata.

He wasnt even drafted. He's not a 6'4" 330lb guy, but you dont need to be inside. You are right about his desire as I think he even tried taking up long snapping to add to his value to a team.

The browns took a smaller guy in Shaun Lauvao in the draft last year and I think he brings the same kind of potential as a guard.

Great point! He probably decided to do that after seeing how long snapping obviously helped propel the undrafted silverback to stardom!
