Riveron’d again.

Steelers fans know the drill by now. When the replay review goes to Alberto Riveron in the NFL offices in New York, expect the worst.

Another controversial call by Riveron went against the Steelers Sunday afternoon, and this one helped put them in a 0-2 hole (https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/09/15/steelers-seahawks-updates-week-2-nfl-pittsburgh/stories/201909150183) to start the season.

On a second-and-20 from his own 27-yard line midway through the fourth quarter, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson heaved a Hail Mary down the field for Tyler Lockett. Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds broke up the pass to set up a third-and-20 and put the Steelers in great position to get the ball back in a two-point game.........

It was a wash, Dupree should have been hit for a helmet to helmet on that very same play that they didn't call.

The Steelers lost because they still can't tackle, stay in their defensive lanes or cover worth a Damn. The defense gave up 3 TD drives in succession and when Wilson escaped the pocket and the only thing that stopped him on those runs were him sliding to a stop. At the end of the day this defense is still a liability. After a total overhaul, several high draft picks and a hell of a lot of attention the Defense lacks structure, discipline, basic football fundamentals and the killer instinct of years gone by.

What the f#*k does this have to do with a controversial replay? Read the title of the thread.

You can thank the New Orleans Saints for why Riveron fucked over the Steelers today, who by the way was trashed 27-9 by the Rams today.

Fuck New Orleans.

All these replays are really hurting the game by slowing it down, and making the officials down on the field second guess themselves, leading to decrease in overall refereeing

give each team two challenges per game on calls only. No other replays.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway

Well, if that review goes the Steelers way, Seahawks are punting on fourth and a mile. Steelers get the ball back and who knows?

One can make an argument, maybe not a good one, that the defense got their stop and the review challenge took it away.

Watt was also blatantly held (he would have had a sack of not held) prior to Dupree’s headbutt.

Watt is quickly reaching James Harrison levels of non holding calls per game. It is almost every time he rushed the passer today.

Yep.
The Seahawks went from the shadow of their own goalpost, to FG range.

100% They could have called a hold on Ifeldi on just about every snap.

At the end of the season, I would like to see an accurate count of how many challenged calls end up as pass interference, because I will bet you it is at least 80 percent.

Meaning 80 percent originally not called interference end up reversed to be interference, and 80 percent of plays originally called interference stand as interference.

Almost every pass play looks like possible interference in slow motion, and almost everything challenged will end up being called interference.

It is a stupid rule made by stupid people, for stupid people, and it will have predictably stupid results.

Lest be honest though, the Saints should have been in the SB last season, they also probably win that game over the Cheats. Can’t blame the Saints for that completely obvious non-call.

Watt was held just about the entire game. I think Riveron saw the missed call on Dupree and gave it to them on the pi

I'd still rather have them winning a Lombardi than the Cheats. I'd actually rather see any team win the Lombardi that is not the Cheats. The Ravens, Bungals, Browns, you name it, no team is less deserving than the Cheats.
