The Steelers “played” the Patriots. Nothing much to talk about. They (really) sucked. Moving on.

Steelers home opener against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.

The bright side is that can’t possibly be any worse than they were last night, They’ll at least score a touchdown in this game.

24-20 Steelers.

We need a 4 game winning streak at least to get rid of the stench from yesterday, Starting with this game. I’m sure Pete will be watching how BB tore the Steelers and Tomlin a new one.

After yesterday my prediction for this game would not be favorable

The way the Steeleers played last night I think almost every team in the league would have whoop them. Of course accept for Miami.

I’m not convinced they will stop Carson and Wilson in the run game. Lockett can get deep. That could be an issue. But Wilson’s legs could really burn the Steelers D.

That’s my tiny little optimism peeking out from all the reality surrounding this team.

You know, they could return a fumble or INT. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well at least the game won't be prime time, so maybe they will be ready.

Fun fact the Seahawks haven't scored a point in Pittsburgh this millennium. That obviously will change though with Russell Wilson. Ben will have to put up more than 30 to win as no way this defense is slowing down any team with at least an above average QB this year. Same ole Keith Butler defense

So should the Steelers just forfeit this game and move on th the 49ers week? You bunch of pansies!

31-12 Seahawks

Only Steelers scores are a Field Goal, Pick Six and Safety

So should the Steelers just forfeit this game and move on th the 49ers week? You bunch of pansies! Haha and my point is Steelers can't come out like they did Sunday night with no emotion or care. They would have got their ass handed to them by most other teams as well. Better have a good attitude facing Seattle.

But Wilson’s legs could really burn the Steelers D.This is the type of game I'd like to see Bush really shine. QB spy and take away Wilson's legs. Staying in his lane and not over pursuing.

Hopefully this is a “real game” for Tomlin and his staff and not just another “evaluation process”.

If they are coming out with the same garbage they threw out there on Sunday Night, they don’t stand a chance.

Like I said in the prediction thread, these west coast team games are going to make or break the season for Pittsburgh...

Steelers get a small break with a 1 pm kickoff (10 am Pacific time) - West Coast teams sometimes have issues with that start time when traveling east.

Line opened at Steelers -4 and now is hanging around -3&1/2 - 4. (Pats are -18&1/2 over Dolphins :sofunny: )

Sorry, but I can't work up too much worry about a team that barely squeaked one out on its home field against the Bengals.

Get a grip, folks.

If they can switch the roles of Moncrief and Washington, we may figure our #2 WR. Send Moncrief deep and keep Washington across the middle. Don’t forget about Vance and stop running an empty backfield in short yardage (they can keep passing, but at least keep the def honest by keeping a back in there).

That should help, if they can manage that.

I'm not sure what fichtner did with McDonald on Sunday. It's like he was MIA until the last few plays of prime time.

TJ Hockenson had a good day, 5 catches for 124 yards and a TD :chuckle:

:iagree: The Bengals are bottom-feeders this year and damn near won in a place that's supposedly impossible to win at. However, it is still only Week 1. A lot of seemingly good teams looked they never read the playbook last week.

Like ... I dunno ... The Pittsburgh Steelers.

Most people are fine by today or even yesterday. It is the same handful of posters that never have an interest in talking specifics but rather just like to post their doom and gloom super negative screeds because it makes them feel better. They can prove to everyone that they are the toughest fan and refuse to drink the kool-aid or wear homer glasses.

Notice how all those posters are never around during the off-season, the wins, or just a random relatively "calm" period? They only come out when they can drop the same stuff they always have to say.

Some people just like to be sad/mad online.

This is the game for the Steelers to come out and prove they still have it. If the Seahawks blow them out at home I expect a VERY long 6-10/5-11 type of season, followed by Ben's retirement.

Well we know Tomlin won't be concerned with what the Seahawks may do.

Expect the same exact offense and defense by the Steelers.

So you want posters to bitch and moan all the time and even during the team winning?

No, we're going to get a "Redemption Sunday" to "wash the stink off" and "unleash hell" to get us all amped up, followed by a loss to the 49ers and Cardinals. The typical Tomlin script.

I'm NOT predicting this game at all, scared to. Keep this in mind --- the Bungholes almost beat them ( actually had them beat) in Seattle house, and the Bungholes are supposed to be the bottom feeder in our division ! And you know how Tomlin prepares teams.....or not.

If you are going to lose a game, let it be vs an NFC team as it doesn't count like an AFC game does in playoff tie breakers.

However we are facing 0-2

I have serious concerns about the DB's and some injuries from last week Our younger players have a leanring curve to deal with.

Ben is going to have to have a good game, otherwise we lose.

I hope your right. I don’t believe the current pass catchers are capable of winning enough individual matchups. Maybe Pats are just that good.

The ONLY constant on this offense right now is Big Ben. Ben has to play better and smarter. Some of those drops and the inability to run the ball didn’t help but Ben is the main cog in the machine.

Yep - Steelers may be mediocre but we will have a better idea on that after the Steelers play a potentially good but definitely not great team at home this Sunday

This from Bill Barnwell at ESPN yesterday in assessing last Sunday night's fiasco

If we judged everyone by how they looked against the Patriots, the NFL would have somewhere between 29 and 31 bad teams each season.

I see a very pissed off Steelers squad bringing the hammer after that embarrassment in Bean Town.

The Seahawks hope to have DE Ziggy Ansah (shoulder) after listing him as questionable. C Joey Hunt (ankle) and WR David Moore (shoulder) have been ruled out while DT Poona Ford (calf), S Tedric Thompson (hamstring) and CB Neiko Thorpe (hamstring) are all listed as doubtful.

CB Joe Haden (shoulder) and C Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) are questionable for the Steelers. RB Roosevelt Nix (knee) has been ruled out.
