I thought that many had Brian Allen making the team over Burns? I guess not.

While Burns certainly outperformed Allen and has earned his spot on the roster, I just assumed Allen must be injured, or why bother to cut him now just to make room for a preseason body that you’re gonna cut after the last preseason game anyway?

That makes no sense.

In the tweet on the post on the open thread,it says that Steelers waived/injured CB Brian Allen.

Right. I didn’t know if waived/injured means he’s definitely injured or if it means waived and/or injured.

Anyway it made no sense if he wasn’t actually injured, and it turns out he was. I just read that he hurt his ankle

Yup, that is the guy. His size and special teams enamored some fans, but he really didn't look like he could play decent coverage at the CB spot. Wish him well, but IMO he wasn't gonna make the 53

I saw that Allen had only played one defensive snap last year and I do not think he played in his rookie season ... Maybe it's his special team stats?
