Skip Bayless predicts Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will win the NFL MVP
by Evan Massey
August 4, 2019
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is entering the 2019 NFL season with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. After the team made a big move to trade star wide receiver Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders and star running back Le’Veon Bell left in free agency for the New York Jets, all eyes have been turned on the star quarterback to prove just how good he is without other superstars backing him up.
Skip Bayless has no doubt that Big Ben will be able to keep the Steelers in serious contention. Not only does he think Roethlisberger can lead the team to another division win, he is predicting an MVP award.

Hopefully he'll win Super Bowl MVP.

I do not think that's going to happen and I prefer that the focus is not on that too.
Maybe if he would have about the same season as last year (but with less interception and more win) he would have a chance, because they could not say it was with Antonio Brown, etc. and also Ben would have need a QB not have a season like Patrick Mahomes like last year .....
I think Ben is going to have another very good season, but the MVP must not be one of the goals

Ben needs to avoid the annual “stinker” performance that he is good for once a season for that to happen. Games like 2017 vs Jacksonville and last year greasefire against the Browns have to stop.
Knowing his style, he’ll have those games.

Skip Bayless has never been credible whether it's in the NFL, NBA or any other sport, but at least he can be funny.
Its replacement in espn (Max Kellerman) is garbage.

That’s the kind of guys they use to fill those roles.
The difference between those guys and Mike Greenberg is Greeny doesn’t come off like an expert since he never played. Those guys also never played but they try to put actual experts in their place as if they know more. Nauseating.

The only MVP awards I want Ben to win in 2019 is the Superbowl MVP award.

Skip Bayless is the same jackass he was before he predicted Big Ben wins the MVP.
Just setting the record straight! :sofunny:

Watching Roethlisberger ‘Operate’ Benefitted Rudolph
Last year, Rudolph was not active for a single game, as Josh Dobbs not only beat out backup Landry Jones for a spot on the roster, but also the backup role to starter Ben Roethlisberger. Rudolph was forced to be a spectator, but was able to take advantage of that opportunity.
“It helped, because it had to help, because I made it help,” Rudolph said. “Obviously I wasn’t going to play, so that’s never fun. It’s a big change going from playing every year for seven years to not.
“I definitely made the most of it, enjoyed it, took what I could from Ben’s preparation, his on-the-field game tape and experience. Watching him operate was fun. I think I added some new processes to my preparation routine. I’m ready to let it go this week.”
Rudolph, who credits Roethlisberger's ability to extend plays with his feet, sees a different player in himself during this camp than last year’s. That should be expected from a player jumping from his rookie season to his second year, but is not always the case.
