In the last 20 years, the NFL has always had at least one team that missed the playoffs after being in the championship game the year before.
In fact the last time the 4 teams that were in the championship game the year before and they made all the playoffs the year after were in 1996 (when the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers and Colts had been in the title game in 1995 and they make the playoffs in 1996)
So between the Chiefs, Pats, Saints and Rams, who are the most likely team to miss the playoffs in 2019?
I think it might be the Saints, if they are unable to move on to the way they lost the NFC title game last year.

Most likely to least likely
Saints: Could be due for a letdown after back-to-back brutal season ending losses. Plus how will Brees play at 40?
Rams: A lot less likely but there is potential for a Super Bowl hangover
Chiefs: The only way I conceive the Chiefs missing the playoffs is a Pat Mahomes season ending injury early in the season. Mahomes + a very thin conference should easily mean playoffs
Pats: Do I really have to explain this one?

Chiefs. Just a hunch.
FWIW - Madden 20 predicted the Patriots miss the playoffs. Also predicted the Cowboys defeat the Browns in the Super Bowl.

For the Rams, my concern is Gurley's situation..Probably not the same player with his problem with his knee ... Also, the other question is their offense had slow down at the end of the season last year, like the game against the Bears and of course the super bowl ... did the others teams in the NFL find a way to slow down the Rams offense? .. we'll see
For the Chiefs, it's going to be hard to have the same offense as last year, so their defense needs to be better ... And the AFC West is probably the best division in the AFC with the Chargers and maybe the Broncos are going to be better .... The Chiefs should be in the playoffs easily, but it could be more difficult if their defense is garbage like last year.
The Pats ... Yeah no way they will miss the playoffs unless Brady plays as Peyton Manning in 2015 when his arm was dead or Brady has a serious injury early in the season.

Chiefs. Too much turnover on defense, Mahomes will have to continue that next-level play to duplicate the success they had. Meaning for them to make the playoffs, will have to score 40+ points out of necessity to win.
