Another running back on a team that has not won anything of significance and does not recognize the RB position has been devalued in today's NFL

They'll probably pay him. Honestly Zeke is the only thing the Cowboys have. I'm not sold on Prescott.
Like all other teams that give their starting RB good money, the farthest they'll ever get is one and done in the playoffs. Look at the careers of Adrian Peterson, Larry Johnson, etc. Peterson got to an NFCCG once but that was more because they had Brett Favre that year.

Jerry Jones will have to spend a lot, since Prescott wants a contract at 34-35 million a year like Wilson and Roethlisberger, Cooper who has one year left at his contract will probably want to be one of 5 the most paid WR in the NFL, and the Cowboys will have no choice but to keep him, since you can not give a first round pick for a player you only keep for a year and a half and of course Zeke will want a higher contract than Gurley....The Cowboys will hope that Zeke is not going to be crazy in his contract requests like Bell otherwise it'll be a big nightmare for the Cowboys.

I'd let Prescott walk if he wants that much. He's an above average QB but that's elite QB money. Though you can count on Jerry Jones doing something stupid so he'll get his money

Honestly, Prescott, Cooper and Elliott...none are worth that kind of money...lol.

But unfortunately for the Cowboys, the price to keep them will be very high!

Colin Cowherd is right ... The value of Zeke is at its highest right now, so that would be the best time for Dallas to trade him .... Often the RBs are worse when they have about 2000 carries in their career or something like that
In hindsight, yes it's easy to say now, especially with the drama that the steelers had because of him in the last 2 seasons, but they would have been very smart if the steelers would trade Bell after his best season of his career in 2016 .... I don't know if they would have had a big offert because of his contracts request that probably few team would have been ready to offered to Bell, but the steelers should have tried to trade him to see if the offer would have been good.

Pay Cooper and Elliott a little more, let Dax walk. He’s not worth Top-5 money...not even close...

But the Cowboys are going to need a QB .... Dak is far from being a true QB franchise, but you can have worse and that's what could happen to the Cowboys next year if Dallas let Dak walk, unless they are one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2019, that is not likely.

Problem, the Cowboys gave a first round pick for Cooper last year ... You can not give a first round pick to a player for only a full season.

They don’t need a Top-5 paid QB who is middle of the pack talent.

He’s closer to that 5 than Prescott...but you’re right, he doesn’t warrant that money either.

Yes, but the Cowboys will not have choice to do that if Dallas wants to keep Dak
In fact, Jerry Jones will have 3 choices with Dak .... Pay him as a top 5 QB .... franchise TAG him next year or let him walk

What is the funniest thing about this is that not only did Bell fail to reset the RB market by missing one season (and over 14 million) and be on the open market the year after, but the RB market even dropped because of Bell if we look at Stephen Jones's comments!
If Bell would not have been on the open market, the RB market for Elliott would have been Gurley but Bell decreased his market.

What Bell did show is that it’s okay to sit out a season and then comeback later to sign a deal...

Yes it's ok to sit out a season without pay and come back later to sign a deal that was pretty much the same as the one you sat out a year for.
Brilliant!!!

Maybe he can go elsewhere for a paycut, move to a state with higher taxes, and run behind a worse o-line

How many super bowls the Vikings won with AP?
And even then, AP was one of those once every 10+ years guys. Barkley and pre-injury Gurley were the only ones in the league who were on his level of talent

Only 2 times in the Playoffs with AP since 2011 too.
The closest they were to SB with Peterson was in the magical season with Brett Favre in 2009.

Yep, and that was because of Favre not Peterson. Case in point, a superstar RB = no super bowls.
People might bring up Terell Davis and Emmitt Smith, but those teams also were led by hall of fame QBs. Without Aikman or Elway those squads would have not sniffed the SB
