Nice pick! Great value for round six! Buggs stood out at the senior bowl. He's got a good motor and isn't easy to block. Not fast or agile he's still a top bull rusher, who also swats down his share passes. A playing DT/NT type if you will.

" He started all 15 games of his senior season, leading the Tide with 9.5 sacks among his 51 total tackles, 13.5 for loss. He also had three pass breakups and two forced fumbles on the year."

Hot & cold. Louis Riddick made a great comment: "Heyward will not let Buggs slack off."

Pittsburgh Steelers: Isaiah Buggs, DE/DT, Alabama B+ Grade

The Steelers were expected to find depth for their defensive line, and they did so with a player who could have been chosen a couple of rounds earlier. I suppose his horrible showing at the combine hurt him, but he was a better player on film. His short arms aren't ideal, but Buggs should become a solid backup for Pittsburgh.

Since we get the 'Rolling Tide of Bama' crammed down our throats here I get to see these players pretty much weekly. Quinnen Williams was the heart and soul of that defense but Buggs got his name called more than a few times for big plays too. Was it because of the attention to Williams? Maybe, but here he will be playing with Heyward, Tuitt, Hargrave, and Alualu as well. He will get his moments I am sure. Good pick.

Frazier hardly played at Bama so this is very true.

Good link here to Cynthia Frelund breaking down Buggs skills. 78 QB pressures in 2 seasons at Bama and 5 of his 9 sacks came on 3rd down. Can play multiple spots on the D line, but really he is mostly just gonna play DE in rotation here.

The new "Sex Machine"?

Steely Dan: Casey Hampton is a Steeler all time great so why not get “big” guys for the NT position? Is his body type obsolete in 2019?

Brian Batko: Kind of, yes. But you still need guys to do the "Dirty Work." For what it's worth, 6th-round draft pick Isaiah Buggs goes by "Big Pooh." Not quite Big Snack, but hey, I still like it.

True, but not sure if Buggs will be that vital to its success. I would like to see him develop to where he and Alualu can be the rotational players. I'd still rather see LaVon Hooks make the 53 instead of McCullers.
