Antonio Brown: JuJu Smith-Schuster fumbled our postseason away

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 7, 2019

Antonio Brown is done in Pittsburgh, but he’s not done taking shots at his former teammates.

Brown tweeted this afternoon that Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster cost the Steelers a playoff berth when he fumbled late in their Week 16 loss to the Saints.

“Emotion: boy fumbled the whole post season in the biggest game of year,” Brown wrote. “Everyone went blind to busy making guys famous not enough reality these days!”

On the bright side, it's the first thing that isn't Ben's or Tomlin's fault. :tongue1:

Looks like I was 100% right about Brown. They should have traded him after his first tantrum.

Tomlin is just one of the guys. Does anyone really expect the Steelers to be better next season? We all want them to be, but it will most likely be more playground football.

If not I cannot figure out why not - why would any company now want their product associated with AB :noidea:

I wanted them to try to work it out with AB as well. As we found out, he was never going to let that happen unless they backed up the Brinks truck full of additional money. He's not worth it. My only regret is that they didn't get more for him by moving him before the traveling shit show began......but the fan base would have wanted a public lynching if they didn't see his act unfold in front of their eyes and they traded him. It was a losing proposition from the beginning. I was all for forcing him to stay and playing hardball, but I might have been wrong seeing how disruptive he has been.

Good riddance. Let him be some else's ticking time bomb.

Yes I expect them to be better next season. They were only a handful of plays from winning anywhere from 10-13 games last season. While I suppose that can be said of a lot of teams the fact is they still did manage to win 9 games last season, and their previous 3 season win totals were 34 combined. An average of more than 11 per season.

There's work to be done. but the idea that Tomlin and Colbert are no nothing rubes doesn't wash when you consider the amount of winning they've done over the past decade. And don't give me HOF qb. Yeah I like Ben too. But there's a lot of damn good qb's that haven't done a lot of winning. Stafford, Rivers, Matt Ryan all quickly come to mind as exceptional qb's who don't punch the ticket into the playoffs every year.

Anyway I think the offense is still going to be elite. And I think the defense will be upgraded enough to put them right there.

Proof is in the pudding though. We shall see.

Actually I do. It really has nothing to do with Tomlin. Some players will stop up and fill the void left by the two cancers. They have the talent to win 10-11 games.

I have to say..... I'm excited to have the best WR in the game on my team. Having said that.... I didn't want him. I knew there was going to be drama. My team doesn't need drama at this time. My team needs stability and dedication. I still think this was a bad signing. Time will tell, but I'm not optimistic.

The thing about Ju Ju's fumble was that...

A. It was his first career NFL fumble.

B. It was more about a really good play by the defense than any sort of careless ball handling.

Ju Ju was doing all he could to get his butt on the ground. The Saints DE I think it was, did a great job hustling down the field and wresting the ball out of Ju Ju's hands! Apparently that wasn't the first time he had done that in his career. Anyway I wish our defensive coaches taught that sort of technique and hustle!

The Raiders have no idea what is about to hit them in the face.

I'm expecting multiple blow ups from AB, and if JuJu outplays him statically? oh boy...

Also, Ben sure is looking pretty good right now huh? So much for him being the bad guy or "cancer". The talk is coming from the guys no longer on the team.

I am keeping my fingers crossed : )

IMO, as more and more Cowher players left so did Steeler football. Leadership/intimidation dropped, locker room antics/immaturity/headcases grew. You never knew which team was going to show up under Tomlin. It was very noticeable vs weak teams.

As best and worst case scenarios go, I can see Steelers possibly going 11-5, but I can also see 6-10. I feel their record in 2019 will be closer to the latter.

Cris Carter Explains AB’s Behavior: Miserable People ‘Love To Be Able To Drag Other People Down’

By Matthew Marczi
Posted on April 9, 2019

If there is one person in the national media who has approximated consistency in his commentary about Antonio Brown throughout the course of the offseason, it would be Cris Carter, the Hall of Fame wide receiver who surely knows a little something about an underprivileged kid becoming a star pass catcher with some emotional immaturity.

With that in mind, I kind of want to give him his platform here, because he had a clear thesis about why he feels Brown has been behaving this way. In that spirit, I’m going to leave it up to him to do most of the talking in this article.

“You can’t be surprised by his reaction because both JuJu and AB are consumed by social media. And if you’re consumed by social media, you’ll find yourself in your mentions, in trying to make a comment to justify”, he started his remarks.

“JuJu was the MVP. The fan didn’t lie. But you had to be able to come back at him this way. JuJu did make a huge mistake in that game. That wasn’t their whole season. Missed kicks, late drives, they couldn’t stop anyone, the offense couldn’t score late in games. They had a number of reasons why they didn’t make the playoffs.

But for me, what I’ve learned in life is, people who are unhappy, they’re unhappy regardless of what their contract situation is, regardless of what their money situation is. They’re miserable people. And they try to make other people get involved in their misery because they’re not happy with their life.

Jack Del Rio: Antonio Brown is “going to be a pain in the ass”

Posted by Mike Florio on April 10, 2019

As former Jaguars and Raiders coach Jack Del Rio pivots to a season in the media, he’s saying plenty of things. And he’s supplementing his head’s up regarding a potential Russell Wilson trade by invoking an opposite portion of the anatomy.

I honestly am starting to think that these NFL talking head shows and Twitter accounts are basically stage-managed like the WWE.

"Okay, fellas. We've squeezed as much as we can from the AB is a jerk storyline. We need to keep the clicks and shares up. Who is willing to take a heel turn?"

"I'll do it. I haven't been relevant or on camera for some time. What do you need?"

"Great, thanks Marcellus. We need you to start the Juju back-lash. Then in about 2 months, we will start the Juju redemption narrative -- setting him up to wrestle for the belt at Summerslam --- er make the Pro Bowl -- anyways. Good meeting."

Way too many talking heads for way too little “real” off season content.

Marcellus Wiley is a very smart person. His degree from Colombia wasn’t just a “gimme”.

Ergo... this clickbait from him is surprising.

Raiders WR Brown settles suit in balcony incident

Jeremy Fowler
ESPN Staff Writer

PITTSBURGH -- Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown has reached a settlement in a highly publicized lawsuit in South Florida.

Brown faced two lawsuits from an April incident during which Brown allegedly yelled at security and threw items from inside an apartment off a balcony, according to documents obtained by ESPN. Both lawsuits were for "damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of" attorney fees and interest.

Brown has settled the suit brought by the guardian of a 2-year-old boy alleging "intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault" after items flung from the 14th floor of The Mansions at Acqualina nearly hit the child...

Very disappointing the maturity that AB has ...

I hope all the drama and the toxic locker room will finally be finished for the steelers...I've already criticized Tomlin for the toxic locker room that the steelers had in the last few years, but with Brown's comments on JuJu and all the other drama that the steelers have had is not all his fault of Tomlin ....

Also for the fumble, remember AB had a very costly fumble in a crucial game against the Cowboys at the end of the season in 2012 ....

I'm sure him not fumbling cost somebody something. Antonio Brown will get to the bottom of this and put the blame squarely where it belongs.
