Ol' Homestead Charlie. After his first pass was picked, he played brilliant. The Old Man still has life in him yet. He really surprised me!

The single BIGGEST impact player was Rashard Mendenhall. 19 carries, 143 yards, and 1 TD for a 7.53 YPC average. That is absolutely insane.

There's the gameball for ya, should've ran him even more, the score would've been 45-6 instead of 38-13

I think we're all just going with Batch because he was unexpectedly good.

Batch, but a close second to Wallace. It was eyes and hands which made both of those short throws turn into TD's!

O-Line gave up zero sacks today. Charlie helped out w/his sidestepping and just enough mobility.... and the offense was 2 for 3 in the red zone. Game ball to Batch.

I had to work, so I was keeping up with game via computer.....but from what I could make of the game it would have to go to CHARLIE BATCH !! Awesome playing for not taking reps during training, preseason, and first few games !! A good statement for him as to why he should stick around in the Black/Gold uniform for awhile.

It might make sense to put Dixon on IR now. Tomlin said he was going to be out indefinitely and Batch's performance today might force the move.

Batch is the obvious pick, though many here are giving honorable mention to Mendy and Wallace. If we're giving honorable mentions, then the coaching staff HAS to be included. This could very easily have been a trap game, with the team looking ahead to next week's game against the Ravens. The coaching staff obviously kept the team focused against the Bucs.

Gotta say I like the play calling by Arians. I don't like him but gotta give some props today.

I had a feeling Tomlin wanted to beat his "student" Morris. They may be close friends but you still want to be competitive and stick it to them and to your old team.

Bottom line: 3-0 and on to the next game. It's not a sprint but a marathon.

Three things I never would have thought I'd say before the season started:
1) The Steelers are 3-0
2) The Steelers won 38-13. With Charlie Batch under center.
3) Willie Gay gets my game ball.

Batch and the O line. But it was a great game by all the offense , defense, and play calling by the coaches.

And that's how we are keeping this ship afloat until the captain returns from exile. With unlikely heros and and teamwork! What a great story this has turned out to be......

Legursky and the rest of the o-lineman for keeping Batch on his feet and opening holes for the running game!!

Batch played awesome.
Ward and Wallace made big plays.
Mendy and Redman ran well.
The O-line protected Batch and opened holes for the backs.
The defense played like we expect them to.
Special teams didn't give up any big plays.
Arians called a great game (it pains me to say this).

The entire team did what they are supposed to do. Game ball: STEELERS!!

Agreed. He had 1 effective spin move then started lowering the Boom! Looking more like his breakout season.

Very well said. Batch and Mendy both had standout performances however this one was a team win. If the OL didnt protect CB or open holes for Mendy those guys wouldnt have looked as good. If the D didnt stop kick ass they would have scored more. If the coaches didnt call certain plays we may not have done as good...etc..etc...you get the point. This one was an all around awesome effort by the whole TEAM!

the O-line for opening holes.

wallace for bailing out batch on a couple of TD plays.

batch for being a QB, not a dixon.

the defense did good again, but when you face such a horrible QB do they really deserve a game ball? leblount was giving them fits with his power.

1) batch - showed he can make some big plays
2) mendenhall - showed he can pound the ball and no fumbles!
3) offensive line - showed they aren't that bad if you can keep Hills on the bench :p
4) wallace - amazing deep threat
