That. Just. Happened.
As most fans of both the Oakland Raiders (https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/oakland-raiders) and Pittsburgh Steelers (https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/pittsburgh-steelers) wake up on Sunday, they are reading all about the agreement between the two organizations to send Antonio Brown (https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/108636/antonio-brown) to the west coast for the foreseeable future. The reactions on both side of the table are justifiable, for obvious reasons, but to me this move is all about Antonio Brown, not the compensation the Steelers’ received, or anything else of that nature.

LANDING ANTONIO BROWN, RAIDERS CONTINUE TO MAKE THE WRONG MOVES

By Jesse Reed - March 10, 2019

The big NFL news ahead of free agency is that, pending official paperwork being filed at the start of the new year, Antonio Brown is a member of the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders sent a third- and fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for Brown, who also got more than $11 million on top of his current contract, including $30.125 million fully guaranteed.

But is this really a great deal for Oakland? Not really.

Going to be a lot different for Brown if and when things don't go right. For the first time in his career he will be among the first sought out by the media and the fans after a loss. If the Raiders don't improve off their 4-12 record he's going to get heat. People don't get that Ben stands up there after every loss and addresses the media. And way more often than not puts the blame on himself. (sorry national media, your narrative of Ben never taking blame is complete bullshit. Too bad none of you bothered to do a little research and find this out!) Anyway it will be fun to see how AB handles blame. This particularly coming from a guy every Steelers beat reporter will tell you who's mood relies on how he did individually in a game. So while in Pittsburgh he could happily celebrate his big stat games in losses with anonymity now he's going to have to at least act like the result of the game matters too.

I just wouldn't want to be a water cooler on the Raiders this year.

I can't wait for Carr to miss Brown a few times and the media start in on him. He'll continue to be the cancer that he is and hide from the media and start to throw people under the AB bus. That, combined with the fact that at 31 he's only going to get slower ... again I wouldn't want to be a water cooler on the Raiders this year.

Meh. He will have a good season. Not great but good. He’s a good player...it’s a shame it wound up going the direction it did...
