Hard to believe they would close early for a deal less than a first or a significant player.

if the above is true then we have to figure we are getting something pretty good ....

maybe 9 and 40 for 20 ?

T. White ?
Edmunds ?

or perhaps we took basically equal value to put him in Buffalo where he may never see the playoffs again ?

If this trade of AB to Buffalo is true, then I would have to think it is what you mentioned with pick #9 and #40 coming to us, but we give Buffalo our #20 pick.

Ha....I hope this is true as it is a sort of FU to AB! I'm fairly certain Buffalo was not one of his preferred destinations.

Buffalo has an extra 4th, 5th, and 7th in this draft. If Oakland offered a 2nd and 4th this year then I can't believe that this deal would be for two picks this year.

Probably #40 (2019) and a future (2020) 2 or 3 or something like that.

Either way it's hilarious that he has effectively ended his own career by getting himself exiled to Buffalo. Larry Fitzgerald is shaking head right now and praying for AB.

If the other team accepts the deal, then he becomes their headache. They can fine him (just as the Steelers could), but AB could indeed sit out. Thankfully, AB wants more money... and his new team has a “free” $21 million to play with (ergo, they could easily give him “QB money”... which would make AB show up).

Rapoport’s follow up tweet says that the deal itself is in place, but that AB agreeing to it is the only sticking point.

Again, the trade can still go through. And, the Bills could still keep him happy (with a new contract). But, it would be a ton easier if AB were cooperative.

It appears to me that when you combine Brown's over sized ego with his level of stupidity you get a real problem "child"/ moron for a man who can play a boy's game very well. Please do not let this guy back in the door. Worse case just move on and let him retire if he wishes. Re establish the Team Culture:

This now is an issue of CONTROL. My Freudian analysis is that Brown wants control. He needs serious help and whats really bad he doesn't know it. I want you to throw the ball to me more often. If you want me to pay for my child;s bills, I will shove you down. I am having a bad day so I think I will show the world I am not happy at this moment and throw furniture from the balcony & I do not care if I hurt any body because how I feel is more important than anything else. I want to have a thrill and so I will go 100 mile s per hour. I should be the team's MVP not JU JU. A few weeks back Zu posted that perhaps Brown needs psychological help and I now agree. Brown has no idea how well off he is. The world of professional sports just keeps pumping up the egos of these guys and nobody in Steeler leadership can do a dam thing about Brown. I have no doubt he has said to himself maybe I made a mistake asking for a trade if only for a moment. He certainly is risking his legacy for the unknown. He may end up with the thoughts of the kid in the street several years ago. What is really hurting Brown is that he is talking to the wrong people. People who do not give a dam about him. It is going to be interesting to see what Brown does but more interesting to see what Rooney does. The Brown's , T O , and Chad J. , Manzel, come and go but the Steelers must be true to themselves and not compromise their legacy. They are handling Shazier beautifully, They were loyal to a loyal Blier, and many don't remember Lowell Perry I believe a # 1 draft pick , a rookie wide out who permanently injured his hip and was not able to play any longer. The Chief paid for his law school education and Perry went on to be a supreme court judge in Michigan. Art 11 knows the VALUES of the franchise & he must up hold them. He can't compromise and still maintain the tremendous legacy.

This now is an issue of CONTROL. My Freudian analysis is that Brown wants control. He needs serious help and whats really bad he doesn't know it.

Like other NFL players, AB wants to have the control over his career that NBA stars have.

As Joe Starkey of the Post-Gazette writes, what AB does not know is that the only NFL players who get that sort of control are franchise QBs. Hopefully the Steelers are going to confirm that by not trading AB to the team of his choice for a bag of doorknobs.

In some ways, it would have been more appropriate if Ben Roethlisberger, not Antonio Brown, had joined LeBron James and Anthony Davis on HBO’s “The Shop.” (https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/ron-cook/2019/03/03/Ron-Cook-Antonio-Brown-Art-Rooney-II-Steelers-NFL-Ben-Roethlisberger-LeBron-James-Larry-Fitzgerald-Mike-Tomlin-Kevin-Colbert/stories/201903040035)

When it comes to power, money and prestige — the things professional athletes (and humans in general) so crave — Roethlisberger has a lot more in common with James and Davis than Mr. Big Chest ever will....

Star quarterbacks are by-and-large the only NFL players with NBA superstar-like powers. That is because they are the only players, by nature of their position, with the NBA superstar-like ability to carry a franchise.

Agree. Brown can kind of hold the team hostage if they are desperate to move him...but the team has to take the stance and come out publicly and say we had several deals in place to trade Antonio. He and his agent refused to report to those teams so we will be keeping Antonio for the 2019 season. It’s then over.

I would be surprised if another team is willing to put up the kind of money AB wants and the draft picks for a diva, locker room cancer, and potential no show. Any team that may have been interested are likely not willing risk the drama of "Will AB report??!" AB is only truly of value to a team that feels they are a player or 2 away from contending. The Pats, Packers, and Saints are the only teams probably willing to give up what it would take. And Saints would have to make it a 2020 pick and a player(Lattimore/Apple/Bell) to even get to the table.

Any offers to the Cowboys for a straight player trade? AB for LVE.

Have fun sitting on the beach for the next 3 years, then have fun bagging groceries because you will be broke after that and are obviously too stupid to get a real job. Probably hates the cold, like a lot of diva players. He seems to 'want' to play for Oakland, which makes me scratch my head. Carr is a Carson Palmer type QB. Yeah maybe good some years but highly doubt they win a championship behind him. Buffalo has a better chance of competing next year than the Raiders do. They are like in total rebuild mode.

To get to Vegas, first you have to play in California for a season or two, with the highest taxes anywhere. They'll probably raise them again while he's there. He's not saving any money on that one.

You know, waiting to hear what kind of possible compensation the Steelers receive in a trade for AB is like waiting to see what cool stuff you get on Christmas morning. Let's just hope we don't get a pack of underwear or socks.

3/8: Antonio Brown won't be traded to the Bills. - Adam Schefter, ESPN

Ian Rapoport reported that the Steelers and Bills were discussing a deal. However, as speculated, Brown said he would not report to Buffalo, so the trade wouldn't have made any sense. It's a shame for the Bills, as they need a talented No. 1 threat to help Josh Allen develop. On the bright side, Buffalo fans will be able to passionately boo Brown and perhaps even throw snowballs at him the next time he visits Buffalo.

Ian Rappaport is reporting that I'm getting a new iPad for Christmas... truth is, it's only an etch-a-sketch...
