The Steelers have given guard B.J. Finney the kind of one-year contract that screams “starter” for 2019....

They also have given a tender to tight end Xavier Grimble of just over $2 million as a restricted free agent as fellow tight end Jesse James is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

They tendered minimum-wage one-year contracts to cornerback Mike Hilton and tackle/guard Matt Feiler, who were exclusive-rights free agents unable to look elsewhere once tendered.

Of note, they did not give punter Jordan Berry a tender

He’s ready to be a starter, no drop-off in performance replacing Foster IMO.

I think he starts this year and Foster is gone. Foster wants a payday which I'm not sure we're paying up. 2nd round tender is a high one for someone we plan to just be a backup.

Would rather have used that money to re-sign James. Colbert usually is good for one move in the offseason that's a head scratcher. He's like the Big Ben of GM's. Great but questionable throws that have you like wtf? :chuckle:

That'd be a pass for me then. I mean the guy plays hard, can finds holes in coverage, but he is just not worth a ton cap space. Like name a random TE that actually plays in the NFL and explain to me how Jesse James is significantly better than that guy.
