TEAM is the STANDARD. When you hear Tomlin say "The Standard is the Standard" he's talking about TEAM. So when I say, no 1 player is bigger than the TEAM, you know I am referring to the STANDARD.
1. Antonio Brown - Future HoFer, Generational WR, Incredible work ethic, 9 years 11,000 yards, 15 TDs in 2018(MVP JuJu had 7)
Self-centered, ego-centric, me-me player, me first, TEAM 2nd, "I am the franchise" per Ryan Clark
In my way of looking at it this is how it lays out:
I do not want to not have AB on this team.
AB needs to want to be a part of this team.
If all your sacrifice is not for the team(TEAM SPORT FOOTBALL) it is pointless.
AB is not a player that you can just replace with any other WR.
JuJu plus Washington does not equal Antonio Brown, talent-wise.
AB can be the key trade ingredient that keeps this TEAM from fading into mediocrity.
The TEAM, Tomlin, coaches, AB, ownership, need to come to an understanding. If AB truly believes he is above the Standard, he needs to be traded. No he cannot be replaced simply by another WR, but he can be replaced by another generational talent at a different position.
I do not WANT to lose AB as a Steeler. I am willing to move on if it is best for TEAM. I don't think it is at this time, but we shall see.
