The Pittsburgh Steelers placed kicker Chris Boswell on their Reserve/Injured list on Thursday and while the team hasn’t disclosed his injury yet, a family member has.
According to Stephen Boswell, the brother of Chris Boswell, the Steelers kicker suffered a grade-2 tear in his groin and that’s what ultimately ended his season.

I hope he has a full recovery and comes back with guns blazing next year and regains his old form.

Boswell has a much stronger leg than what we saw yesterday from his replacement. McCrane simply doesn't have the leg strength to be a full-time NFL kicker. He did a great job in the game, but was very weak on kickoffs and has limited range for field goals.

if he was really injured he should have sat out instead of costing us games this year, just saying

Agreed. Boz was cool and steady and money his entire time with the Steelers. I have a hard time believing he just fell apart without there being some type of medical issue. Hope he can turn it around.

You would probably have to sit 50% of your team if you went with that idea. Many of these guys play injured all season.

True but the one guy on the team who shouldn't be playing with an injury is the kicker

Linked story said he injured it in pregame warmups for Saints game rather than playing through it all year

Maybe a change in kicking mechanics as he fought through his slump aggravated the muscle(s) he injured :noidea:
