Thanks for that article from when time also was running out on an even more successful era in Steelers history

As far as what a different landscape we are under, perhaps not with regard to communications with star players who have tense relationships with the organization. 1983 was the year Bradshaw had offseason elbow surgery without the team's knowledge/agreement then missed the season except for the first half of the Jets game in December when he reinjured the elbow and never played again. Dan Rooney had this quote about that in the article

"The problem with Terry was we never knew the condition he was in."

Interesting article on the circumstances of the Bradshaw surgery shows how his relationship with the Steelers had deteriorated by 1983

Oh, I thought this was going to be like the other article where Butler didn't know Tyler Eifert was on injured reserve, only in this one the writer didn't know Dan Rooney was dead. Talk about an awkward interview.
