How many points will New England win by?

How many points will New England put up on Keith Butler?

Do most of us even want to discuss this game?

At least Tomlin finally gets a 2nd game with New England after the 2016 AFC Championship that he was blathering about late November 2017.

Hopefully Tomlin can convince the team they are playing the personnel and not the uniform

The Steelers look to be circling the drain and the Patriots live inside the Steelers heads. But this week’s opponent has a 3-4 road record with losses to a something less than murderer’s row of Jags, Lions, Titans and Dolphins

No line pending clarification of Ben’s status but since I assume Ben plays I would be surprised if Pats are favored by more than a FG.

Pats- 42

Tom Brady (as well as the rest of the league) knows the Steelers cant do a few things and will capitalize on it
1. Pass defense. The Steelers had 3 passes defended on Sunday and 2 were at the line of Scrimmage.
2. Run the Ball. The Steelers had 40 yards of rushing against the Raiders (a 2 win team) so it makes the Steelers Offensive game plan very simple, Screen passes and short pass attempts.
3. Adjust. The Steeler coaches do not adjust, I think they aren't capable.
This game was something the Steelers had looked forward to since last season but it looks like a Career day for the Golden Boy.

How many points will New England win by?

10, after two garbage time touchdowns by Ben in the fourth quarter. New England cruises up 37-13 going into the fourth.

How many points will New England put up on Keith Butler?

At least 30.

Do most of us even want to discuss this game?

I don't know about most of "us", but I'm personally not entertaining the delusion of a Steelers win Sunday.

James Harrison re-signed by Steelers solely to punch Brady in the ballsack

He gets confused and punches himself in the ballsack instead

Game tied 0-0, late 4th quarter, 4th-and-30 from our own 1, Harrison in at long snapper for the punt

He turns around and hikes the ball 120 yards in the opposite direction

It goes out the back of the Patriots end zone for a rouge

Steelers win 1-0

Why not, nobody has a good defense in 2018, it's all how much your offense can score. We can potentially outscore anyone if we don't throw in a dogshit quarter or two, even though that's hard to resist.

This team is just way too fucked up right now in the almost supernatural fashion they manage to lose games. Three games where they had a lead a halftime, and lost all three of them.

Game losing pass intercepted by a fucking Defensive Lineman. Pass deflected in the endzone by two defenders and still manages to be caught by the receiver. Losing a game on a fourth down. Kicker slips on the game tyer. Things aren't lining up well at all for the Steelers to have even the remote possibility of success.

If they somehow don't get smashed and manage to build a lead on New England Sunday, they will manage to blow it somehow someway.

I've come to accept this season as a wash.

only way to get win is to score in last seconds to win game, and with Boz playing the way he is its going to take years off our lives watching. I think we can hang with them if Ben doesn't turn it over more than once but if pats have a chance on offense with more than 45 seconds left in 4th quarter its a loss. I will be amazed if the D makes a key stop at end of game. Then again I thought no way we lose to Raiders so we are do some good bounces.

After watching last night's Chiefs/Chargers, the NFL has pretty much decided that the offense will get all the help it needs through ticky tacky bullshit calls to keep drives alive. It happened to both teams last night and even Troy Aikman an offensive guy called it out during the broadcast.

The PI call to keep the Chargers alive on that final TD was pathetic.

The days of a dominant defense are over until the NFL instructs the officials to "let them play".

If you are referring to the one in the end zone, I am positive it was a “make-up” call for no call on the head to head on Rivers. But the entire previous scoring drive by the Chiefs was just a gimme TD to them. The rules and reffing are going to continue to ruin this game until nobody watches anymore.

Ponder that - Brady has a higher career passing rating against the Steelers than he does against perrenially sad sack teams like the the Bills (the Jets were briefly good with Revis) or that passers in the modern pass happy era such as Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees have against the worst pass defenses they have regularly played against in their careers :doh2:

2011 game against the Cheats is the only time I can remember the Steelers making any significant changes to their defensive game plan. LeBeau actually mixed in some bump and run man coverage, kept Brady under 200 yards for the day. The offense put up about 450 yards and kept them off the field a decent amount. We held them to 17 points and they were never really in the game. Of course, I never saw them run that game plan again....cuz why in the world would you want to have continued success? lol

Let’s see: Brady’s stats against us, Belichik’s record after a loss, Artie Burns back in the lineup, no Conner, special teams doing their thing.....it’s going to be a long afternoon.

Don’t think playing more man, Burns’ supposed strength, will make any difference at all.
Brady is going to go after him again and again, flags will fly, and eventually he’ll lose his head.

No worries, we have Sensabaugh on the other side.

The Steelers built up a 24-16 lead and picked Brady once. The Patriots were effectively fucked.

If they didn't turtle up on Offense in the fourth quarter to Let the refs dictate the game on Jesse James' GW catch, and Ben isn't a fucking moron, they win that game going away. But alas, Tomlin came up with an inventive way to lose to Belichick again. Just as he's been finding ways to lose this year.

Even for some miracle, Brady doesn't go off and the game is in hand, I have no faith that the team will finish the job.

Titans and Lions had ex-Cheats who know how to beat them at their own game. Dolphins, in Miami, have had their number for the past couple of years, but even with that it took a last second desperation play to win. Jags? They were good enough to go man-to-man and not let the bastard breathe

Looking at this from the defensive side of things is the wrong way to approach this game, IMO. I believe this game depends on how our offense executes and dominates TOP and scores. I would like to see us run a lot of the jumbo run package. Eat up 3-5 yards per carry and put together 8-15 play scoring drives while keeping Brady and co on the sidelines and out of rhythm. Do not allow the Pats more than 2 possessions per quarter. Try to keep them with one per quarter. I think our offense is much more physical than the Pats D and we can wear them down and run over them if we stick to it. AB will be doubled the entire game. If Conner is out today run it with Nix lead blocking. Bring back the Bettis style offense for today. Our D is going to surrender yards. Just need to stop them in the redzone.
