I understand he had to clear the waiver wire to make it back to the practice squad so I guess no other team was that impressed with what he showed in preseason

I think someone would have claimed him last week when he was waived to make room for Ola. So, he's probably safe... now he would have to go directly to a teams 53.
No guarantees, but claiming him last week to put him on a PS would have been the easier move for another team.
