The NFL released its list of the 25 semifinalists for the 2019 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh Steelers got two guys on the list as guard Alan Faneca and wide receiver Hines Ward are both on the list once again.

For Faneca, this is his fourth time as a semifinalist. He spent 10 of his 13 NFL seasons with the Steelers and established himself as the best guard in franchise history. Over his career, Faneca had 201 career starts. The former first-round pick out of LSU, Faneca made the Pro Bowl nine times and was named an All-Pro eight times.

Ward was the standard for physical slot receivers in the NFL. He spent all 14 of his seasons in the NFL with the Steelers and was one of the most productive players of his time. Ward is one of only 14 receivers to ever haul in 1,000 career receptions but it was often his punishing blocks which caught the headlines. Ward made the Pro Bowl four times, was named an All-Pro three and was the MVP of Super Bowl XL. This is Ward’s third time being named as a semifinalist.

Faneca has a good chance. Ward not so much.
