I was just reading one of the Steelers articles this morning and notices that Doug Legursky might get the start at RG due to Essex having an injury.

It's no secret that I am a "Legursky homer" but what does SU think?

Alot of folks are high on Legurski (me included).

Preacher posted in another topic that this might be Legurski's coming out party......I hope he's right.

Well, Trai Essex has never been impressive. He's been disappointing, at least in my opinion.

To be quite honest, though, I don't pay as much attention to offensive lineman play as I do to every other position. From what I've seen of Legursky, though, he looks as if he can be (at the least) as good as Essex. So why not start him next game to see if he's capable of being a starting offensive lineman, especially if Essex isn't 100%.

I gotta go with Legursky, especially if Essex is hurt. The guy just works hard at whatever he's asked to do.

It is a no brainer legursky.

I have always been impressed with two aspects of Legursky's game. 1) Leverage- His body type and strength seem to work to his advantage. 2) Tenaciousness-He plays until the whistle and has a "nasty" bulldog mentality. Doug might not be 6'5 but if you measure his heart and desire, he is as big as any one else on the field.

IMO Essex hasn't ever really been a good RG at all. I think Legurskey is an automatic upgrade at that position.

Legursky all the way! I think he will take the job on sunday and don't look back

though I also said foster would unsit essex during TC so....

But im expecting big things outta bronco on sunday. Brian Price and McCoy will be a great test for him

I of course think Legursky should start if Essex cant....Essex has looked much better this year with a better C next to him, I will say that. Anyways...my ONLY worry is Legursky is the only backup C on the team...if one of him or Pouncey go down for any length of time...then what? Not trying to be negative as i think they'll be fine and Legs will knock em dead...but that is my only concern.

LEGURSKY!!!!!!!! IMHO Legursky should be starting RG for the reasons LLT listed previously. The guy just gets it done and will never give up on a play or a block. I wish he could start there for the rest of the season and would be great for him and Pouncey to jell together.

Legursky. LLT summed it up well.

Heck, I'll take him over a healthy Trai Essex.

Legursky. I love the way he plays to the whistle like Pouncey. Now if we could get a good tackle, we'd be in good shape.

I think the OL will have a much better outing if they can stay healthy all game on Sunday. Big Starks back who honestly plays much better than Hills, Legurskey in at RG, and Pouncey in the middle, should give Batch plenty of time to air out that defense!

I picked Essex because I have a feeling they will make the mistake of starting him even though Legursky is a better RG. He's a blue collar, pack your lunch and go to work guy. You know, a STEELER!! This year him and Redman proved that they couldn't be denied and I hope he plays and plays well enough to keep the job.

Essex has been ruled out.

Legursky will start and I assume Foster will be active for the first time this year.
