My wife never tells me I look strong getting groceries. She just merely yawns and tells me to get the rest??? :chuckle:

This Steeler team just scares the hell out of me !! Win ? I consider that a 'survival' ! That game was handed to us. Ben's scrambling and busting tackles to pass to JuJu at end won that game for us. How in the hell do you score 30 pts in the first half and NOT score a damn point in the second half ? What the hell happened ? A damn DEFENSE letting the Buc's run up over 450 yrds and do just about anything they wanted to do. This team makes every QB look like Brady. There is NO doubt this team is going to need Ben to score at least 5 TD's a game in order to win. Why didn't Brown get any action in 2nd half ? We have NO Defense .....and now the Offense play calling is getting questionable. NO POINTS for an entire half ???? WTF!!

They had the ball 4 times in second half. One was the victory formation drive. Two were punts. And one was a missed FG.

In the first half they had 7 drives.

Can't score when you don't have the ball.

I liked how Ridley was used more this game, seemed both running backs were fresh. Edmunds has some serious jets, if he can play up to his potential he can be scary good

And in order to get to play-offs and WIN.....this is what they better be figuring out fast !

The thing is, the play calling went from "winning a game" to "not losing a game" in the second half. I was frustrated as well because we've seen this too much. It looks as though they shackle Ben and the WRs in the second half. And then, when they need them to step up at the end of the game because the defense has blown the lead, the have problems turning the engine on again.

Not sure that is really true.

In their 2 second half drives prior to taking over with around 5 minutes left to play, the team attempted 11 pass plays against 4 rushing plays. Of those 11 passing plays, 6 are listed as being completed for over 10 yards or "deep" attempts (assuming that is also over 10 yards) and 1 was a sack on third down. That hardly seems like a team that was putting the handcuffs on the offense.

Now the drive with 5 minutes left and the one with two minutes left were classic protect the lead drives. Not sure if I can fault any NFL team for doing that.

And penalties kept keeping their drives alive.

And penalties kept keeping their drives alive.

Which ones were that? https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201809240tam.htm#all_pbp

Reading through the play by play and my flawed memory of the second half, there was one penalty that might have mattered - the following sequence in the fourth quarter:

1st and 10 - 12 men on the field penalty
1st and 5 - Holding on Watt. Declined because Howard beat him for 11 yards.

No matter the penalties, Howard gains over 10 yards.

Am I missing other penalties? I mean there was DHB's meltdown, but that didn't extend a drive.

Speaking of penalties, thank goodness for holding on that punt!
