AP

Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1181/ben-roethlisberger) and Mason Rudolph (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/13075/mason-rudolph) were already texting buddies (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/05/11/ben-roethlisberger-texts-good-luck-to-mason-rudolph/).
Now, they’re actually communicating face-to-face, and the Steelers’ elder quarterback said he was happy to help the guy who could eventually replace him.

As I said in one of the threads when this was first a big deal, I'll wait to see what comes of it in camp. Well, this isn't camp, but it's close enough for what I meant, and sure enough, we see Ben acting like a professional. Also, like I said in another thread, when you go back and listen to the entire interview, this really shouldn't surprise anyone because much of what he said did sound like it was, as least somewhat, out of context.

One interesting tidbit is Ben's light poke at AB for getting overthrown by MaRu. Sounds like it was a go route.

Another BullShit story. Ben’s not mentoring anyone. He doesn’t even like the kid and according to part of the fan base should be set out on his ass with Bell and Harrison.

Drama queen mentoring a rookie...lies!!

Damn, they need to stop getting close-ups of Ben. That nose has been beat to hell.

Ben: Okie-Dokie, Reindeer - here is all da Ben knows about QBing in the NFL. Take the ball from the snap Pouncey. Then avoid the sack guys. Throw ball to team bros in same jersey as da Ben. Don't throw the ball to the other color shirt guys. Sometimes Ben do that. Coach Mike yells at Ben. Then AB throws the water cooler. Sometimes that make Ben miss smiley Hines. Do you know smiley Hines? No. Hmmm. Maybe Washington can be your smiley?

Is it me, or are Ed B’s questions getting dumber and dumber. Asking if Ben was surprised that Brady wasn’t at mini camp. Gotta love Ben’s answer....”He can do whatever he wants”.

I never really thought that Ben wouldn’t mentor him. My problems with Ben aren’t his actions (sans his college bar days), but rather his mouth. The fact that he’s doing it sends an even bigger message to Ben that sometimes it’s better to just move on to the next question.

......but that’s just not Ben, and at this point in his career, I don’t see that changing.

His mouth really isn’t that bad. It’s the blown up stories and fan overreactions that makes it a big deal...when really it never is...

That's your perspective. Mine is different. I'm not in the minority.

Very likely. I don't expect it to change. I will always be critical of it. I hope he gets us another trophy before he retires. I also wish him well in his personal life after football. Seems like he has a happy family life, which you can't undervalue - it's the most important thing.

I would be willing to bet that you are in the minority with that opinion

That Ben says stupid things? I’d take that bet any day.

Naa, it was a follow-up to why is Ben in camp when the others aren't. A clarification question, if you will.
