The Steelers are bringing a couple of old friends to the NFL draft with them this weekend.


Former players Rod Woodson and Max Starks will announce the team’s picks during the second day of the draft Friday in Arlington, Texas, the team said on its website Wednesday (http://www.steelers.com/news/draft/article-4/Woodson-Starks-to-announce-draft-picks/1f300a1f-8b5d-46a7-971a-d4983e08f99e). Woodson will handle the second-round selection while Starks will follow by naming the third-round choice.

Rod Woodson is one of the best athletes and defensive backs I have ever seen play, I don't blame him for leaving. the Steelers had medical concerns over his knee and shoulder and didn't think he was the player he used to be, they didn't try very hard to keep him a Steeler which I think was a mistake.

As I recall it, Bill Cowher begged Rod Woodson to play FS. Rod took it as an insult, and went to the Niners to prove than he could indeed still play CB. After one underwhelming season there, he switched to FS.
